| Posted: | | | | Saw it and liked it ... A LOT!
Within the first ten minutes the movie already had more explicit and graphic violence than the first one had in its entirety, including the CGI-blood pimped DC version.
The actors are ok (the first flics cast list would have been better, but what the heck), the action is almost non stop from the get go, the fight scenes are good, the overall pace of the film fits the franchise nicely and I was not sorry for a single cent I spent on my ticket.
Oh, btw, this time the movie doesn't even remotely care about children and young ones to be spared for reasons of political correctness, a welcome change in perspective in my book...
Regarding the critics: maybe take a look at their reviews of the Alien and Predator movies and the first crossover title, that could render a better perspective on where those "professionals" stand regarding this vehicle. If they haven't reviewed any of the older ones, they probably don't know enough about the franchise to voice a profound opinioon to begin with and should be considered game for the hunt... | | | Lutz |

No character development so you didn't care who lived or died and no alien vs predator action until the end of the movie for example. Well, like I said, I prefer to go see for myself. Everybody has their own criteria for what is good or bad in any movie. Some of it coincides with what a lot of other people think, but a lot of it doesn't so I prefer not to miss a movie I might otherwise have seen simply because some dude on Yahoo (or wherever) didn't like it. Go see for yourself. You are the best critic there is when it comes to what you like or don't like. | | | John

You watch it to watch poeple die and the predator fight the aliens. And granted the big fight was at the end (isn't it that way in all movies), but there were encounters between the two throughout the movie. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net grenactics - The art of skillfully fraggin one’s opponent with the use of grenades or other compact explosive devices that are thrown by hand or projected. |

If you want to go see something, do so, but don't prematurely set any expectations based on some dufous reviewer. I've found, in fact, that most of the time when it gets a pan from the reviewers that I really like the movie. Thanks for that... I know not to take critics too sewriously, just more as a guideline (FWIW, I found the DVD Talk critics to be quite in line with my own view, mostly). As I said, I will see it, with expectations adjusted, so chances of enjoying it are actually increased | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | Just got back from a second viewing of this. I loved it the first time despite the horrid dialogue and glaring plots holes, plus the darkness of fight scenes. It didn't hold up as well a second time, although being a fan of both creatures I still enjoyed it, just not nearly as much. By saying I'm a fan of both creatures is an understatment. I have all of the comics, toys and most of the books related to both, even those heainous old Kenner Predator toys that look nothing like them since they were all that existed back then. Think all I'm missing is the old 14" Kenner Alien. Predator 2 is still the best (I've always liked the Preds more than the Aliens). Hopefully this did well enough to get another one made, and maybe they could go back to the first comic series for examples of how to handle it. Sucks they stripped a lot of the story for the week first film. Imagine how great it would've been to introduce the Predators holding an Alien queen like in the comics, but now that's shot. Better yet, how about turning Predator: Rogue into a movie! Predators fighting each other is infinitly more interesting than fighting Aliens IMO. |
