Don't forget that most of the people who came to America, from colonial times on, did so to get away from wherever it was they were at.  Combine that with a country large enough to have every kind of climate to be found in the rest of the world (except possibly subtropical) and it isn't so strange that people who are born here don't feel the need to go anywhere else.  Most of them are too busy making a a living to even see all of this country, let alone go overseas.

You now what's really interesting?  The percentage of Americans who have never left the country for any reason.  It's something ridiculous like 80+%.  While I find the map a little annoying, it is frightening just how geographically challenged some of my fellow citizens are.

Well I loved the first map! It was simply hilarious!

And I want to add one more funny thing about American's Geogrpahic ignorance:
Americans are NOT stupid - WITH SUBTITLES

Take a look, it's to die for.

Anyway, I saw someone talking about adding a map like this for Europeans. I'm on it! Just waitting to see it! :D

Funny video. We Australians can't help taking the piss out of everyone. It is just part of our culture I'm afraid. Don't worry, we don't limit ourselves to Americans.

I can imagine that. I have visted the USA 4 times now and Canada 2 times and there, long tours/holidays, still haven't seen everything.
But as a footnote that is the same with Australia, Europe, Asia and Africa, and even in my own country I haven't seen everything. It is not that I want to see everything, but I don't mind to travel to see a lot.
Still need to see Uluru for example

By the time I was 24, I had seen more of the world as part of the US Navy than most people see in a lifetime.  As a kid, I traveled on vacations all over the US and Canada, and what few states I didn't get to then, I've been in since, as well as a good sized chunk of Mexico.  There isn't a single place I've been (and many of them are quite exotic and beautiful) that holds a candle to where I grew up.  The only place I haven't been that I would like to see is Scotland and Ireland, but if I never get the chance, it really doesn't matter.  I got all my wanderlust out of my system on Uncle Sam's nickel.

Now that's sad! I guess reading, & current events, aren't big on some peoples, to do list. Perhaps the film is biased in favor of stupidity.

ROFLMAO.

While I had a good laugh, please keep in mind that if you ask enough people you'll always get a few stupid answers - in every country. And if you ask long enough you'll get enough to make such a movie.

For example: A radio station in Vienna (that's in Austria (Austria, not Australia )) asked on the street:

Pupils should learn arabic/indian numbers in elementary school. What do you think?
Water should be allowed as ingredient in the brewing of beer. What do you think?
How many kilometers do you drive in an hour, if you drive 160km/h.

Those who answered weren't the wisest among the Austrians.

At Universal Studios they have the Hollywood Walk.  It is the area you have to walk down to reach the actual theme park.  Both sides of the walk has stores and restaurants.  The area is normally crowded with people especially on weekends.  I think it was Jay Leon who used to send his people out there with a microphone to do interviews.  The interviewers always found the dumbest looking and acting gang member type or the woman who looked like a prostitute walking down the road with the IQ of a tomato plant.  Not all American are stupid, they purposely pick the dumbest ones for their footage so it is funny and we can laugh.  Would you have watched the video if they had smart people who got all the answers right.  Of course you wouldn't, because it wouldn't be funny.  The worst part of the video was the map he had people sticking pins in.  It was mislabeled and they stuck North Korea down in the corner as an island.  I am far from being the smartest American and I was able to answer the majority of the questions I think there was one he lost me on but I wasn't paying full attention either.

I'm happy to say I'm part of the other 20%.  I've been to Canada (Niagra Falls) and Mexico (Tijuana many times while in college since the drinking age was 18).

Sincerly, the part I liked the most was right at the begining when they were asked to name a country starting with "U" and no one thought about U.S.A. or, otherwise United States of America.

Just asked four people:
Ukraine
Uganda
Uruguay
Yugoslavia

If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
