| Posted: | | | | Just a question but when you have this many DVDs can it really be about the movies you enjoy or just about how many you can add to your collection? I only have a little over 500 but there's plenty tv shows in there that drives up the number and I'm always giving some away do to the fact that they no longer are enjoyable to watch. Just an observation is all ... and I'm sure my collection would be around 750 if they had all the ones I want now in Blu-Ray instead of standard DVD.

Rustolemite I can't speak for everybody in these forum's, personally I still have a fair way to go to reach 5000, but out of the 1100 titles I own, I only have about 350-400 un-watched but then winter is coming up, no staying out late in the evenings sitting in the garden enjoying a glass or two of wine chatting with friends and family, dining alfresco. Will now be sitting indoors with said friends enjoying the wine and a DVD or two per evening. And there's the collecting too. Steve |

| Posted: | | | | Of the 1600 or so that I have collected, I may have watched 40% give or take a few points. Time is a big constraint for me. Although i'm single, travel time to and from work eats up a lgood portion of my time (I commute from Maryland through Washington DC to Northern Virginia to my office and back). Company sponsored travel gets a good chunk of time (I even bring a laptop to view films on the plane) and of course i'm a sports fanatic! So, i'm counting on retirement to free up a lot of time for me to begin to indulge in this past time. But in the mean time I have to keep purchasing in order to keep up. Five thousand titles is a tad bit off for me but who knows, it can be done. Happy viewing PE@CR! DER DOKTOR |

| Posted: | | | | Even though I'm watching DVD's nearly every day (mostly TV series, I don't have cable or sat...) , I still have about 1.200 unwatched DVd's. My tagline should be: "My name is Thorsten and I'm DVD addicted!" | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

| Posted: | | | | I haven't posted anything to the forums in ages now but I thought I would come out of the bushes to announce I've passed the 5000 titles plateau. (5022 after this week's acquisitions). They are all individual profiles as I don't include child discs for TV sets and such. The wife insists I have more than enough now but of course she has no idea what she is talking about. KC | | | "Man who goes through airport turnstile sideways is going to Bangkok."

| Posted: | | | | Hi addicted DVD fellows! I am back for a little statement on my collection. I stay now with 12.890 pieces. The reason is I sold around 600 titles from Warner in Snapper boxes. I hate those snappers and as I earlier mentioned I need space, so I decided with very hard feelings to sell them, by the way with some good profit too, as there were titles among them which were rare. Now to the question how many I didnt see yet, I would say as I am big movie fan from childhood on I think there are around 25% of my collection I didnt see yet. But I like collecting, I always collected things, I collected coins, stamps, music-cds (still around 2000 though I selling them too all the time, books, LPs, videos, gamesoftware oh my god what a bad buy nothing worth anymore and I got around 500 original games from MS-Dos times beginning) and now its the DVD. I think till now my most worthy collecting hobby, because its not only nice entertainment, but also very satisfying when watching the different packages and pictures of the DVDs and special editions are my favorites. Ok it will be topped now with my new start of Blu-Ray. It all begins all again. But what an experience...... Blu-Ray DLP-beamer Infocus, Blu-Ray-player LG BD370 and Onkyo TX-SR875 THX Ultra-Surround 2 receiver gives an ultimate audio-video home experience for me erveryday. So under the line for me...its worth all efforts.... |

I am eating your dust now Gardi, and heading in opposite direction. Have sold / given away over 300 titles which were bought for my kids years ago (they now too old for titles), with still some more to go. So will probably end up back down to 5000 by year end. | Posted: | | | | am i the only one who is somewhat ashamed about the size of his collection? i mean IRL, not on the internet. i stopped updating my dvdprofiler in 2007 when i was at 2400 dvds. i started again last week and have about 300 dvds to input i guess. i am feeling freaky when i realise how ridiculous my collection has become. ok, i had an idea when i watched my rooms fill up with stuff but i didn't know it was this bad |

| Posted: | | | | According to my collection numbers, I'm up to 6534 titles as of now (although I'm quite conservative when it comes to collection numbers, so it's not inflated by box sets etc.) I also have 400 laserdiscs, and a lot of VHS.
For years I've bought much more than I watch (and kept telling myself that someday there would not be much left of interest), and it doesn't seem to stop. It is a mania, but at least it's a fun one. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | Well, I am not sure if I am right here, this depends on the way you count: My online collection says that I am below 5000 - but I also count the discs I own and they are more than 5300.... Am I right here? :-) |
