If I have time, I audit the profile right away, otherwise it gets placed on the shelf for future viewing/profiling. Usually I audit a profile when I watch (or watch again) a movie. | | | -- Enry |

| Posted: | | | | After purchasing, I profile immediately after getting them home but I've still got over 100 titles still unopened...some of them were purchased almost a year ago. So far I haven't run across any missing, defective or incorrect discs...knock on wood . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I usually open all my purchases within a few days of purchase. Especially stuff I get from online sources, particularly if something is rattling inside the case or the case is obviously damaged. In these cases, I will try to watch the DVD right away to check for program damage.
Stuff I buy locally may stay unopened for a long time (years) as long as there isn't something that makes the case rattle. I've never been burned by a DVD purchased locally (knock wood) but I HAVE gotten some bad ones online. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. | Posted: | | | | I generally open them when I watch them, though for reasons stated I need to get into the habit of opening them when I get them. I had one movie (Maverick) that had what I could only describe as a tar smear on the disc (the widescreen side of course) and was lucky I opened it and found it within the return period.
I have sinced opened up a bunch of ones I haven't watched yet, but still have a lot of titles that I have not yet opened.
the profile gets added to my collection as soon as possible though.

| Posted: | | | | I used to wait until I watched them, but lately I've been opening them when I get them or within a few days of. Profiler has helped though since I'm putting them in as soon as I get them now. Thought I had my whole collection, but just last night noticed a couple more titles not in yet. I know I left a few off on purpose, but these didn't fit that category in any way. It's nice to have the correct dates and purchase prices input now that I'm pro. |

| Posted: | | | | I always open them, take out the security device (my pet peeve, hate those damn things), and enter it in to my collection. When I bought Little Miss Sunshine when it just came out, there were two discs in there! So I now have a back-up. |

They are profiled the minute they arrive though and then go to the "unviewed" - pile (which isn't to high usually) I don't have a "unviewed" pile, but what I do is put them on the shelf on their side which is alphabetized. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net grenactics - The art of skillfully fraggin one’s opponent with the use of grenades or other compact explosive devices that are thrown by hand or projected. |

| Posted: | | | | I purchase mostly from a real store vs online because I hate to wait for a purchase to arrive.
From the real store, if I'm picking up a used copy I make them open it right there in the store so I can check the condition of the disk. If new, I open everything out in front of the store, tossing out security stickers and any inserts that are just advertisements.
All the opened cases are then slipped back into the bag, taken home, and immediatly entered in Profiler. Disks are removed from the cases and stored in the DJ boxes and the empty cases are added to the pile that I let grow until I've enough to fill another large plastic storage bin to add to those already under the house. |

| Posted: | | | | I always open them as soon as i get home. i dont like them to be left wrapped up. i put them in the havent watched shelf. i have decided not to buy any older movies that i want untill i put a serious dent in the need to watch collection. i will still buy new releases. i cant just go cold turkey all the way you know. |
