Leia was not a Jedi. She may not be trained, but she had the powers. She knew Luke was not aboard the Death Star when it exploded in Ep VI. |

You are correct, nobody thought that Star Wars was going to be a hit as no Sci-Fi film at that time was, but that doesn't change the fact that Lucas envisioned it as a serial series. Once it was a hit, as I said above, Lucas changed the name and gave it an episodic title.
Despite what Lucas says now, you can't convince me that he planned Darth Vader being Princess Leah's father when he shot the interrogation scene in the original Star Wars. I wouldn't dare try to convince you of that. When originally conceived, Vader and Luke's father were two different characters...the former killing the latter. In fact, from what I have read, in Leigh Brackett's first draft, Luke's father appears as a ghost. It wasn't until Lucas wrote his first draft of Empire, due to Brackett's death from cancer, that the 'plot twist' was added. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar | | | Last edited: by TheMadMartian |
