Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes My Thoughts: This one I enjoyed quite a bit. It is a little on the slow side for my normal taste... but it worked for this one. The story kept my attention through-out. Even if it could have been a little shorter. I am not very good when it comes to accents... but something seemed a little off with Nicole Kidman's accent in this one. Otherwise I thought she did a terrific job. Sean Penn is usually pretty hit or miss with me. In this one I thought he did a very good job. Over-all I found it to be a very good movie. One I feel more then comfortable recommending. Though it is also one I can't see myself watching too often. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: none Stars:Bud Abbott Lou Costello Buddy Baer Dorothy Ford Barbara Brown David Stollery Plot:This musical comedy stars one of Hollywood's greatest comedy duos, Abbott & Costello, bringing to life the colorful tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. Extras:Scene Access My Thoughts: This is an Abbott & Costello movie I never seen before... but not surprising since it is a musical. I been in the mood to watch an Abbott & Costello movie for a while now. This movie comes in a Mill Creek Entertainment 20 movie set—Family Pack—which usually tells me that the expected quality can be anywhere from Very Good to God Awful. In this case the quality of this movie is in very good condition.... considering the movie is 59 years old. Though there is a little dust and scratches on the film. As for the movie itself... I must admit I am a little on the disappointed side here. Not only because of all the music... but also because the usual laughs I get from an Abbott and Costello movie just isn't found here. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: Spanish Stars:Julie Bowen Traci Lords Dawn Maxey Michael Sottile David Packer Scott Trost Plot:What begins as an accidental murder becomes a deadly society when three women decide they are the ones who can eliminate all the irredeemable men in their lives - permanently. Jamie is a successful novelist, trapped in a bad relationship. When things get out of control and her boyfriend ends up dead, her best friend convinces her to hide the body. But he is only their first casualty, and soon The Killing Club brings on its third member - and takes care of its next victim… Extras:Scene Access Feature Trailers Production Notes My Thoughts: Hmmm... What did I think of this one? I enjoyed it enough that it kept my interest through-out the entire movie. But at the same time... it is far from a great movie. It is a pretty good story. But some of the acting could have been better. Over-all I would say it is worth a watch... not so sure about it being worth a purchase. I would say only if you can get it very cheap. As for the rating... I would say it is barely a 3 rating out of 5. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I'd go with Leon: The Professional if you've never watched it. Natalie Portman is great in it. Otherwise, I'd enjoyed a League of Their Own as well.
Are the Little Women stories from a Mill's Creek pack of holiday movies? I just bought that myself but was kind of saving it for Christmas. Would be interesting to see if they're any good. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I wish I saw your post sooner... already half way through a comedy. I considered Leon: The Professional... but I been trying to do shorter movies since I am so far behind on this marathon... wanting it done before the start of the horror marathon. Which is exactly 1 week away now.
Yeah those Little Women stories are from that Christmas Collection. | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.40:1, Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Robin Williams Mandy Moore John Krasinski Eric Christian Olsen Christine Taylor Josh Flitter Plot:Drive through downtown Chicago. Blindfolded. Care for two screaming, slobbering, creepy-looking babies. Robot babies. Give up sex. Yes, even that. Oh, the things Rev. Frank has you do before you say "I do!" Robin Williams, Mandy Moore and John Krasinski headline this zany, light-hearted romantic comedy about a young couple eager to walk down the aisle and the bride's minister, who aims to lower the divorce rate by busting up incompatible twosomes before the shoes and rice. Sign up for Rev. Frank's marriage preparation course. It's tougher than boot camp. And a whole lot funnier! Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Interactive Games My Thoughts: The first time I watched this movie it was on On Demand... and I wasn't very impressed with it at all. It felt like it wasn't the old Robin Williams that I have been a fan of for all these years. After watching the DVD today (which was given to me) I feel I was a bit harsh on it the first time I watched it. I still don't think it was a great movie. That there should have been some of the old zany Robin Williams in it... but it is definitely better then I remembered it being.I said the first time I watched it that I didn't like the little boy that was supposed to be the Reverend's protege. That I found him annoying. And while that is still the case... he didn't seem as annoying this time as he was for me the first time I saw it. So with all that said I am glad I gave this movie a second chance. Though it still could have been better. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

(Larry King) Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Production Notes Outtakes/Bloopers DVD-ROM Content Extended Edition + Theatrical My Thoughts: This is of course the sequel to Meet the Parents... a movie I always liked a lot. But it is the first time I ever got the chance to watch this one. While I did enjoy it.... I found it to be a good comedy... I don't think it is at the same level as Meet the Parents. It definitely didn't have as many laughs for me.... but there is a few in here. I did like Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand as Greg's parents. Though I will admit that I was a bit worried when I saw them in the trailer. Not worried about the actors... but more worried on how they did the characters, It seemed a little over the top to me. But once watching the movie I found I was concerned for nothing. It seemed to work well for the movie. Basically I think if you enjoyed the first one... while not quite as good... you should enjoy this one as well. My Rating: 3.5/5 | | | Pete |

ABIGAIL BRESLIN (Little Miss Sunshine), JODIE FOSTER and GERARD BUTLER shine in this fun, "exhilarating and enchanting family picture" (San Francisco Chronicle) based on Wendy Orr's beloved novel. Nim Rusoe (Breslin) lives on a deserted island with her scientist father Jack (Butler) and her best friends: Selkie, a sea lion; Fred, a bearded dragon lizard; and Galileo, a plucky pelican. But when Jack goes missing at sea and the island is "invaded," Nim reaches out via e-mail to the adventurous author (Foster) of her favorite books, and together, each discovers what it takes to truly become the hero of your own life story. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Closed Captioned Public Service Announcements My Thoughts: This is the first time I watched this movie. It is a nice family movie.... geared a little more towards the kids then adults. But entertaining all the same. It was pretty predictable... as I had the movie basically figured out within the first 15 minutes. Even with that I enjoyed watching the story get there. Before putting this one on I asked Brittany (my daughter) if she wanted to watch it with me... but she turned me down. Said she saw the trailer and it really didn't interest her. I wish she would have given it a chance. I think she may have enjoyed it as well. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I know you're passed the "m"s but if you get bored put in the Magic Sword. One of my favorite cheesy movies. I first watched it through Mystery Science Theater 3000 and maybe that helped me to fall in love with all it's cheesy goodness. It hasn't (to my knowledge at least) been released that way, but the movie itself is funny all on it's own. And hey, Basil Rathbone's in it!
I enjoyed Nim's Island, too. I did read the book first (very quick kid's read) and the movie isn't too far from that which is always amazing when they don't take so many liberties. | | | Lori |
