| Posted: | | | | I agree with everyone else. I saw it yesterday and loved it. Prior to this, Iron Man had been my favorite superhero movie. It's now #2. But what really made it fun is it was an Intel event. They rented the entire theater. You walked in, got your free popcorn, drink and candy and walked into whichever movie you wanted. We picked the 3D version and were lucky enough to find seats. But any movie they were showing was acceptable. Of course it turns out my youngest wasn't sleepy, but was in the process of getting sick. But fortunately I didn't learn that till afterwards. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | This is what I was expecting today (rude people)... but surprisingly it was really a great group of people in the theater with us today. Everyone was quite and still... no babies... nothing but a group of people all enjoying the movie together. It definitely was a pleasant surprise! | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I honestly don't get why people are so impressed with it. The story is nothing new or original, it's borderline generic and plain bland. Not to mention completely obvious, and im going to be using the word obvious a few time's. Most of the first half of the film concentrate's it self on hyping up the Hulk.
I don't care how much you hype up the Hulk you can't get around the stretchy pant's issue. He get's angry, shirt rip's off smash. And ok maybe your saying im being a little unfair about that and i should relax, have a little suspension of disbelief.
I would if the majority of film did not try to insult my intelligence. Early on we are treated to over blown CGI showing off shields technological wizardly, but they seem to have a heavy reliance on rather basic pistol's which sound more like firecracker's than gun's. Not only that they are completely unaware of the obvious ineffectiveness of them on there foe's.
Something that finally culminate's in a moment of idiocy where Mr Fury draw's his pistol on a fighter jet. Oh our hero's are a very bright bunch indeed. Yes only after spending 30mins or more of telling us how smart Tony Stark does he finally figure out Lokis very obvious plan.
Robert Downey Jr was fresh in 2008 as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Now it's gotten stale as his character never develops. That's why most of his joke's are just not funny. Cause we have heard them all before.
Any way after figuring out the obvious. Cue the finally and where most of this 220 million dollar's was blown. Paying off the taxi company's for all explosion's that would make Michael Bay orgasm many time's over. And some aliens that look like they came out from a bad video game.
Obvious, boring, boring and booooooooring. | | | Last edited: by ShinyDiscGuy |

Thank you for the sacrifice, because I was expecting a documentary, and now I know it's just another comic book movie. --------------- |

--------------- I like a lot of comic book film's. I wasn't expecting a Dark Knight by any manner of mean's. More something on the level of the first Iron Man. A surprising, fresh fun flick. Everything The Avengers wasn't. |

| Posted: | | | | Well it crushed the box office with 200.3 opening weekend in north American and a total box of 614 plus million globally. It has gotten a CinemaScore of A+. So it looks very promising. One of the things that I liked the most was simply put if Jack Kirby were still alive and had written this story, this is very much what it would have looked like in his hands. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! One of the things that I liked the most was simply put if Jack Kirby were still alive and had written this story, this is very much what it would have looked like in his hands. I knew Jack. He wasn't much of a writer. (Yeah, I know he wrote much of the Fourth World saga and when he returned to Marvel he wrote some of the Captain America stuff... but writing wasn't a major talent of his.) I used a sketch he did (for Steranko) of Cap and blew it up by hand to about 55 inches tall, traced it on my '69 Ford Econoline van and hand painted it with automobile paint. He signed it at a San Diego Comic Con in the mid-'70s when I was a guest there. No one could stretch the boundaries of forehortening as well as Jack... my four and a half foot tall Cap had a fist larger than his head and one foot smaller than his little finger... and it look right and amazingly dynamic. I believe Steranko reprinted the sketch in his first volume of his history of comic books. I am surprized that more comic book writers haven't written more films. A comic book page breakdown is in many ways a great storyboard for films. The larger the panel on the page, the longer the shot... the smaller the panel, the quicker the cut. I would think the skills needed to write a good comic book would be a good start to the skills in writing a good film. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | Just saw it today and while it's nothing outstanding, I found it entertaining enough. The action is well done and unlike VirtualScot, I actually think the jokes worked really well but wasn't overdone. The CGI was fine and although the story wasn't special, it got the job done of bringing these characters together.
I will say, look out for The Dark Knight Rises, while I highly doubt it'll get a $200 million OW, the audience was dead silent and transfixed during the trailer, so it should do very good business at the box office. | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |

Roll on the Oscars. Yikes. I doubt that. There wasn't any performance strong enough. Musically forgettable. Visual and special effects nominations...yeah..by there will be competition I guess maybe joss. Might get a director mod but unlikely I think. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!
