Stars:Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers Nicholas Brendon as Xander Harris Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg Seth Green as Oz Anthony Stewart Head as Giles My Thoughts: Another Halloween episode I enjoyed quite a bit. I liked how the gang was careful about what costumes they wore this time... a nod to the first Halloween episode where they all turned into their costumes. I have to give it to Oz on his costume choice... his entire costume was a name tag that said Hi, I'm God! And I just loved how the episode ended with that "big" fear demon. Stars:Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers Nicholas Brendon as Xander Harris Emma Caulfield as Anya Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn Summers James Marsters as Spike My Thoughts: Another good episode of Buffy... though I do like the first two Halloween episodes I watched more. But it is still definitely worth watching. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 Count:Movies: 12 TV Eps: 49 Other: 19 Completed Goal: Oct. 5th | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: Home Improvement: The Complete Second Season: The Haunting of Taylor HouseOn Tool Time: Tim is demonstrating how to make a brick wall. Since it's Halloween, he also dresses up as a monster in an attempt to scare Al. Together, they carve jack-o-lanterns. Except that Tim has invented a new method for achieving the same result - with, you guessed it, more power! With predictable results. At home: Tim has turned the basement into a "haunted house" for Brad's Halloween party. Brad has agreed to dress up as "Raggedy Andy" because Jennifer is coming as Raggedy Ann. But Brad is stunned when she comes as a biker chick with another boy. Stars:Tim Allen as Tim Taylor Patricia Richardson as Jill Taylor Taran Noah Smith as Mark Taylor Jonathan Taylor Thomas as Randy Taylor Zachery Ty Bryan as Brad Taylor My Thoughts: The Home Improvement Halloween episodes are always a treat to watch! These always offer plenty of laughs. Definitely a must see for anyone that likes their Halloween episodes! Stars:Tim Allen as Tim Taylor Patricia Richardson as Jill Taylor Zachery Ty Bryan as Brad Taylor Taran Noah Smith as Mark Taylor Jonathan Taylor Thomas as Randy Taylor My Thoughts: Another great Halloween episode from the Home Improvement gang. I think I like the previous Halloween episode a little more then this one... but it is pretty much right up there with it. Definitely a close call. But just like the last one... it is a must see! Deacon worries Kirby may be gay when he'd rather have a traditionally female costume. Stars:Kevin James (1965) as Doug Leah Remini as Carrie Victor Williams (1970) as Deacon Patton Oswalt as Spence Gary Valentine as Danny My Thoughts: This is a great series... and a fun episode. But for some reason I was expecting a little more from this show for a Halloween episode. But it is still definitely worth the time put in to watch it! Stars:Richard Dean Anderson as MacGyver Dana Elcar as Pete Thornton Katey Wright as Karin Graff Michele Goodger as Joanna Nicholas Rice as Bench Byron Chief-Moon as Joe Wales My Thoughts: Now this is an episode I haven't seen in many years. I just recently got the complete series box set of MacGyver. So I haven't seen many of these episodes since they originally aired. And this is definitely one of them. Halloween episodes can be done in a couple different ways. Where it is Halloween and it shows the characters dressing up and being up to their Halloween antics. And then there is the type where they make it look like a normal episode (not mentioning Halloween at all)... but attempting to make the storyline a little creepier then what they normally show. This episode is of the second type. I enjoyed it quite a bit... was lots of fun. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 Count:Movies: 12 TV Eps: 53 Other: 19 Completed Goal: Oct. 5th | | | Pete |

Stars:Richard Dean Anderson as MacGyver Dana Elcar as Pete Thornton Teri Hatcher as Penny Parker Gisele MacKenzie as Sylvia Lang Ray Young as Virgil My Thoughts: This episode guest stars a young Teri Hatcher ( Desperate Housewives). She appeared in a good half dozen episodes of MacGyver over the years... playing a character I always got a kick out of. And I definitely loved every second of watching her in this episode. Not only does it take place on Halloween... with a creepier then usual storyline... but it also shows that it is Penny's birthday. An excellent episode... one of my favorites of the entire series! Katherine's back, cutting a path of violence, fear and heartbreak through Mystic Falls. 2: Brave New WorldCaroline awakes with a powerful thirst for blood, and she may not be the only new monster in town. 3: Bad Moon RisingA full moon shines a terrifying light on the Lockwood family secret. Caroline sacrifices her happiness to protect Matt. 4: Memory LaneHow did Katherine escape the tomb? What other monsters lurked in 1864 Mystic Falls? Katherine clues Stefan in. 5: Kill or Be KilledElena and Stephan continue their "feud" and Katherine adds to her stable of conquests. Stars:Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert / Katherine Pierce Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert Sara Canning as Jenna Sommers My Thoughts: After the way season 1 ended... I couldn't wait to start season 2. I started the disc yesterday evening... and I just couldn't stop watching until I watched all five episodes on the disc last night. I am really getting hooked on this series! I was a little worried going into this show about all the comparison to Twilight that has been made. And yes, there is some comparisons that can be made here. But it is also so much more then that. And the is no sparkle the way there is with Twilight... one of my major complaints about the series of movies. Seriously, this is a teen drama that can get heavy at times... but it also has a storyline that can easily draw you in. I would say give it a chance... though it does take a handful of episodes to start to get into it. All I can say is I gave the series a chance... now I am glad I did. | Posted: | | | | Weekend Catch-Up Finally back to borrowing my daughter's laptop while she is at school. It was a long weekend for me! I got a nice selection watched this past weekend... but I also watched a little of other things as well... so it isn't as much as it should have been.
Movies: The Cabin in the Woods - Enjoyed this one Quite a bit. Watched it twice... with and without the commentary. 4.5/5 Mega Piranha - This one left me a bit flat. Wondered if I would make it through the entire movie 2/5 Wrong Turn - Originally bought because it has Eliza Dushku... Definitely enjoyed it! 4/5 Room 33 - Low budget horror... but I enjoyed it... kept my interest through-out. 3.5/5 Wrong Turn 2: Dead End - Good sequel... better then I was expecting from the Overview 4/5
TV Shows: Vampire Diaries: Season 2 Disc 2 - 5 Episodes... still hooked. 4/5 Charles in Charge: Season 1: Trick or Treat - A sitcom I enjoyed... but not that strong of a Halloween episode. 3.5/5 Charmed: Season 3: All Halliwell's Eve - One of my favorite series... one of my favorite Halloween episodes. 4.5/5 Vampire Diaries: Season 2 Disc 3 - Another 5 episodes 4/5 True Blood: Season 1 Disc 3 - 3 more episodes... Almost done the first awesome season. Only 2 episodes to go. 4.5/5 The Walking Dead: Season 3 Ep. 1 - Yay! The Walking Dead is back! I found this to be an excellent start of the new season... can't wait for the next episode! 5/5

This Week Well... I won't have access to Brittany's computer this week as much as I have here lately. This week Brittany has a 4 day weekend. Off from school Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. And she decided she will be going to her grandmother's house for the long weekend. So I will not have the computer at all for 4 days straight. Though I may be able to briefly pop on to by brothers here and there to try to keep up with what is going on around here.
While Britt is gone for the 4 day weekend I will be borrowing her Blu-ray player (It can hook to my standard CLT TV... but I know I won't get all benefits) So this coming weekend I plan to watch all my Blu-ray discs from the few Blu-ray DVD combo sets I have. Right now I have 4 titles on Blu-ray... 2 horror related 2 not. I have...
- Splice - Red Riding Hood - The Avengers - The Three Stooges: The Movie
The only one of the above I have seen before is The Avengers... So tell me what you recommend... what order should I watch those 4 in? | | | Pete |

Stars:Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton Sam Trammell as Sam Merlotte Ryan Kwanten as Jason Stackhouse Rutina Wesley as Tara Thornton My Thoughts: I just completed revisiting the first season of this great series. I enjoyed it just as much this time around as I did the first time I saw it. The episodes on this disc not only brings the season 1 storyline to an end... but it also sets up the next season nicely. Stars:Alyssa Milano as Phoebe Haliwell Rose McGowan as Paige Matthews Holly Marie Combs as Piper Halliwelll Kaley Cuoco as Billie Brian Krause as Leo My Thoughts: Another Halloween episode of Charmed. This one I enjoyed quite a bit... but not as much as the season 2 episode. One of my favorite things about the final season of Charmed is the addition of Kaley Cuoco ( The Big Bang Theory) to the cast. Over the years I have become a big fan of hers. In this episode Halloween was really no more then a backdrop... no real storyline involving Halloween. Stunning betrayal impact lives (and a death). And at last Klaus appears, looking disturbingly familiar. 18: The Last DanceHippies. Peaceniks. Girl groups. JFK and Jackie. Everyone is going to the '60s dance in disguise. Including Klaus. 19: KlausKlaus reveals himself in his true form, commanding powers no one dreamed he possessed - powers that began with the shocking secret of his birth. Stars:Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert / Katherine Pierce Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert Sara Canning as Jenna Sommers My Thoughts: I am so close to the end of season 2 now... and I am just as hooked on this series as I ever was! Once again this series is heavy on the teen drama. So if you can't get into that... you probably want to skip this show. But I found there is enough with the vampires, witches and werewolves that it keeps me hooked despite all the teen drama. Just 1 more disc (3 episodes) to go to finish off the second season. Hopefully I will be able to knock it out later today. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 Count:Movies: 17 TV Eps: 81 Completed Goal: Oct. 11thOther: 19 Completed Goal: Oct. 5th | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: DTS: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English Stars:Adrian Pasdar as Caleb Jenny Wright as Mae Lance Henriksen as Jesse Bill Paxton as Severen Jenette Goldstein as Diamondback Tim Thomerson as Loy Plot:In the dusty heart of the American southwest, innocent country boy Caleb Colton (Adrian Pasdar of MYSTERIOUS WAYS) is seduced by a beautiful girl (Jenny Wright) into joining a roving pack of vicious drifters led by the enigmatic Jesse (Lance Henriksen of THE TERMINATOR and ALIENS). But this is no ordinary band of outlaws; Caleb is now trapped in a nightmare of soulless evil that waits in the shadows, hellish mayhem that thrives on blood and absolute horror that begins NEAR DARK. Bill Paxton (TWISTER) and Jenette Goldstein (ALIENS) co-star in this extraordinary shocker co-written and directed by Kathryn Bigelow (STRANGE DAYS) that Entertainment Weekly calls "ultrastylish, ultraviolent and altogether brilliant." This is more than simply the most ferociously original vampire movie of our generation; NEAR DARK is one of the best horror movies of all time. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Gallery Production Notes DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned THX My Thoughts: This is a movie that has seemed to fly in under the radar for most people. I discovered it while I was working as a manager of the local video store.... and everyone I ever suggested it to never even heard of it. But yet of the MANY people that took a chance on this movie because of my recommendation... I don't remember ever hearing bad feedback. As far as I remember everyone enjoyed it! One of the things I like about this movie is that even though while watching it there is no doubt in your mind this is a vampire movie... they never once use the word vampire in the movie... and you never once see a set of fangs. Another thing I like in this movie is the awesome bar fight scene. I have seen a few bar fight scenes in horror movies... and this is one of the best. Then you have the added bonus that one of the stars of this movie is Lance Henrikson.... a great genre actor. Needless to say I was thrilled when I first heard this movie was coming out on DVD. I pre-ordered the title as soon as I was able to. And even better was the fact that the release is a 2-disc edition with a nice selection of extras. It is a film I have now watched countless times (between VHS, DVD and Cable). And is a film I try to watch every year in my October marathon. If you never seen this under-rated movie... I urge you to give it a chance... I really don't think you will be sorry.
