When Brittany got home today... I was like hmmmm.... let me try something. I asked Margaret (my mother-in-law) to run me to the post office real quick. I grabbed the tracking number... and sure enough the new computer was waiting there for me... ready to go out in tomorrow's mail. So I grabbed it. And am now typing on my new computer!!!!

Woohoo! Thank you so much to my very generous friend! I absolutely love it!!!

.... but seriously, what a kind friend!

Haven't seen that screen since Windows 95 and after a couple of update it was almost gone... Never had a single crash on XP, so Microsoft isn't that bad in my book.

edit : I mean complete system crash. Of course softwares crash sometimes but I don't blame Windows...

I've gotten it a few times over the years on each of my systems (except my Windows 7 Pro x64 machine... so far), but it's almost always been my fault, seeing how far I can push without breaking and whatnot.

My one year old apple I-Phone 4  has frozen or crashed on me maybe... three times..

I can't get a transmission signal... or my emails have frozen .. or ..something else ..

in all cases Had to do a hard reset ( power off) to get it back. so even Apple has it flaws ......

I bought a 17in laptop and hated it. It weighed too much and was too bulky for my liking.

If you want to run a Virtual Version of XP, use the program

Oracle Virtual Box.  https://www.virtualbox.org/
Free from Oracle, no stringies attached.

At work I have several VM's that I use for various things. Also have VM's of Red Hat, Mountain Lion, Android ICS, WIn7 Thin Client, Server 2012.

Now lets see M$ virtual server top that!!!

Except you need a license for that XP too.

I don't get this  Top what? At work we have hundreds of VMs running on VMware Workstation, VMware ESX, MS Hyper-V and RHEV. After our tests we desided not to use VirtualBox. It was too "toy" and buggy. Of course it's free, but so is VMware Player.
