I think android will be dead just like windows mobile is by the time they come out with the app!
I love the Program but it sucked because my windows mobile phone was junk.  The only reason why I kept my Samsung Omnia for so long was because of this program!  I even bought an iPhone because there was word of an OS comming out for it but the iPhone was almost as bad as my Omnia!
Right now i am limping allong using my mobile web brouser and logging on here to look at my database but that sucks because I can't edit or search!
PLEASE COME OUT WITH AN ANDROID OS SOON!!!!!!

another +1 for an android app
Android is due to overtake apple for the number of apps available for the platform next month and the Android OS is eating up the market share for smart phones so it would make sense for Invelos to cash in on that new user base there are few products that are as detailed or mature as DVD profiler if Invelos doesn't choose to do it then you can be sure someone else will.

Guys, honestly I do not think that the developers are serious in creating an app for the Android system. This thread has been going on for almost 4 years now. They will realize their mistake late for sure. So do not wait for this DVD Profiler for the android to happen and make the move or switch to the other alternatives.

Started in September 2008, so three year's

The demand is here in these very page's, and other numerous threads for the app to hit the Android Operating system.

You seriously think thousands of people are going to switch to Windows Mobile or iPhone just for one app? I find that pretty naieve.

There was a post a while ago stating that the designer is looking into it for android, so I'm sure it will turn up sooner or later.
It is in development, they just wanted to secure iPhone and Windows Mobile first as they are easier to port to.

I'll buy it instantly as soon as it hits android, as will many other's here.

Looks like adding another vote here may be a bit pointless but having just got an Android phone I was disappointed to find that the mobile version didn't support android. I sort of expected a lack of support with my last phone which was a Symbian S60v5 phone as it was a smartphone platform that was being dwarfed by Android and IOS  but with Android overtaking IOS it seems bizarre that they have taken so long to capitalize on this market.

When i was on WM2003 on a PDA there were alternatives to at least allow you to view your collection like BevelStone Pocket Movie List does anything similar exist for Android? I have found a thread mentioning My Movies and one talking about importing the data into Memento DB on the phone but neither is really ideal.

According to Wikipedia article Smartphone Operating Systems, "Share of worldwide 2011 Q2 smartphone sales to end users by operating system, according to Gartner":
- Android 43%
- Symbian 22%
- Apple 18%
- RIM 12%
- Bada 2%
- Microsoft 2%
- Other 1%

It seems _very_ likely that Symbian will continue to lose its share and Microsoft Windows Mobile will grow, but as far as I know, Android has been steadily gaining market share since its arrival.

They should release a really basic Android apps now and work on a better one for later, I will love to just be able to have my list of DVD on my phone.

Or if someone know a way to get my list of DVD on my phone that will be cool too for now.

I did this the day I got my droid. Actually works OK, not great, but OK.

Slap yourself, it's just not that simple: It only works for phones with internet access.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all Androids have internet access?

Unrelatedly, my Droid Incredible (finally) received the Gingerbread update today!

Well, some tablets only have Wi-Fi (as far as I know) so you can use it as a ebook-reader, or for playing games etc., when you are away from your hot-spot, but no data-transfer.

Or if you have a smart-phone and no data-flatrate you might hesitate to browse the internet, or you can sit in an area without proper reception.

Like the Barnes & Noble NookColor, for example (I have two).

A small tablet (like the 7" NookColor) would make an ideal remote control as well as a DVD collection client.  Perhaps they could even be integrated (what a thought)??

I say "DVD collection client" because I have my DVDProfiler collection files on a shared network drive (so that I can access it from any of my PCs), and wouldn't it be nice if I could access that data as well via a "DVD collection client" on an Android device, over WiFi.

Of course, even better would be for the user's local DVD collection data to be stored in an SQL database, and accessed from DVDProfiler via ODBC.  I'd pay money for that as well (and I've forwarded that suggestion to the Collectionz.com folks as well).
