This app is incredible. 3200 entries and it took about 1 second to sync. From here, all I have to do is update my collection, export the DB and sync with my Android through WiFi. Takes less than a minute. Launch the app and search for any part of the title and bang you see any title that has that letter combination along with an icon showing whether it's a DVD or Blu-ray. In less than 5 seconds (literally) you see if you own that movie. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! And thank your friend. And the best part, it's free. I would absolutely pay for this. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| Posted: | | | | I too would like to give this app a try. Really wish they would have created one for android by now but this looks like it will work for now. Quoting Falquian: Quote: Hi everyone!
A friend of mine has develope a small Android app to list the titles in my collection:
Is quite simple but very, very fast (less than a second to sync, via wifi, the db).
Although you see the info in Spanish, the interface is also available in French and English (my friend does not use more languages!)
My friend is open to add more functionallities/data if required, but I think that is enough for me (I just do not want to buy twice a movie ). Well, after reading the post RobAGD linked, I will ask for a name change, we do not realized there could be any copyright issue with it! (after all, the application is intended for my personal use and I won't due my friend!
If any of you is interested in the app just ask me for it. There will be no money involved, by the way, it was only a hobby for my friend.

| Posted: | | | | Hi Falquian, Just sent you a request via PM. This app is exactly what I would have expected Invelos to provide at least 2 years ago In Switzerland, > 60% of all Smartphones and Tabs are Android-based. Only < 20% are iOS (Apple) ! And the US or the Rest of the World are not so different. So there is no rational reason to develop a iOS App, and not an Android App, except if you want to shut off > 60% of potential customers @Invelos: When will you get your act together, and roll out an Android App ? btw. Falquian: just thank your friend from me for helping us out , as Invelos has not been able in 3 years to provide any version on Android. Best Regards. Jean-Marie Quoting Falquian: Quote: Hi everyone!

Ken is surelly developing a killer app, according the time he is taking for the development
Best regards Just out of curiosity, what advantage do people see of using an app like this, vs. viewing the online collection on your mobile browser? (Edit: I see the responses - many thanks for the insight.) I had hopes of making a no-frills app like this to bundle with LoadDVD as a way to control media over IP, but I couldn't develop my skills fast enough. I wonder if your friend would entertain selling the source code? PM me if interested in some sort of collaboration. Actually I didn't even download it yet, so maybe I should request the link and take a closer look - but I'm sure it is great, based on all the positive comments. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Quoting mediadogg: Quote: Just out of curiosity... What Mithi said: The method you are talking about is what I used until this app. Even with Droid X2 with dual core processors, it took some time to launch and find the profile you were looking for. Generally around a minute, then blow up the screen and click on the profile wait for the load and scroll back to the top and see whether it is a DVD or Blu-ray. This app takes me about 5 seconds to launch and type part of the title or speak the title. To me that's extremely useful when trying not to double buy or find out whether yours is DVD or Blu-ray. My 2 pennies. P.S. Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to the DVDP app, but that will be more for carrying my whole DB around on my belt. This one will probably always remain my favorite for knowing whether I already own it or not. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. | | | Last edited: by mreeder50 |
