A sweet and generous friend will be sending me...

Kong Collection
|Year: 1933|173 Min.|
The 1933 classic, King Kong ranks as one of the epic thrillers in film history, earning a prestigious place on AFI's list of Top 100 American Movies! The legendary Fay Wray portrays a young starlet who encounters the mighty Kong on the fog-shrouded Skull Island and brings him back to dazzling New York City. No one can forget the awe-inspiring terror and heart-pounding thrills that catapulted this modern classic to new heights of cinematic glory. Following in the unforgettable footsteps of his legendary father, Son of Kong brings the action back to the mysterious Island as a new damsel-in-distress encounters the mighty creature who may be the only force standing between life and death in this prehistoric South Sea paradise!

This is one of many classics I never seen before... so looking forward to checking both of these out.

Found out I will also be getting...

Lawrence of Arabia
|Year: 1962|228 Min.|IMDb|Trailer/Intro
The dramatic portrait of the famed British officer's journey to the Middle East, 'Lawrence of Arabia' is one of the most critically acclaimed and beloved films of all time. Assigned to Arabia during World War I, Lawrence courageously unites the warring Arab factions into a strong guerrilla front and leads them to brilliant victories in treacherous desert battlefields, where they eventually defeat the ruling Turkish Empire.

Excalibur
|Year: 1981|141 Min.|IMDb|Trailer/Intro
The legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table receives its most impressive screen treatment in Excalibur, from visionary moviemaker John Boorman (Deliverance, The General).

All the elements of Sir Thomas Malory's classic Le Morte Darthur are here: Arthur (Nigel Terry) removing the sword Excalibur from the stone; the Round Table's noble birth and tragic decline; the heroic attempts to recover the Holy Grail; and the shifting balance of power between wily wizard Merlin (Nicol Williamson) and evil sorceress Morgana (Helen Mirren). With Patrick Stewart, Gabriel Byrne and Liam Neeson in notable early screen roles, Excalibur serves up, The New Yorker's Pauline Kael wrote, "one lush, enraptured scene after another."

Who Framed Roger Rabbit
|Year: 1988|104 Min.|IMDb|Trailer/Intro
It's 1947 Hollywood and Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins), a down-on-his-luck detective, is hired to find proof that Marvin Acme, gag factory mogul and owner of Toontown, is playing hanky-panky with femme fatale Jessica Rabbit, wife of Maroon Cartoon superstar, Roger Rabbit. When Acme is found murdered, all fingers point to Roger, and the sinister, power-hungry Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd) is on a mission to bring Roger to justice. Roger begs the Toon-hating Valiant to find the real evildoer and the plot thickens as Eddie uncovers scandal after scandal and realizes the very existence of Toontown is at stake! Who Framed Roger Rabbit is deliciously outrageous fun the whole family will enjoy.

Living for the present, good-natured fun often turns into trouble, and responsibility looms over their approaching graduation. When their simple-minded friend Aaron commits a violent crime, the boys vow to protect him by covering up the evidence. Now, as they desperately struggle to keep the crime a secret, the truth begins to surface and their perfect world begins to fall apart.

A friend gave me this home made DVD today....

The Legend of Lizzie Borden
|Year: 1975|92 Min.|IMDb
Lizzie Borden took an axe
And gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one.

New England spinster Lizzie Borden was acquitted of the charge of murdering her father and stepmother in 1892, but this made-for-TV movie, like most recreations of the murders and subsequent trial, adheres to the popular consensus that Borden was guilty. Elizabeth Montgomery takes a break from playing victims to portray the enigmatic Borden. The trial scenes are lifted directly from the original court records; scripter William Bast's speculation as to what really happened the night the elder Bordens were hacked to death is pure (but credible) conjecture. Accompanied by a "parental guidance suggested" tag, The Legend of Lizzie Borden was first broadcast February 10, 1975.

And on Elizabeth Montgomery's birthday non-the-less!

Never seen this one before.

Another gift for today...

Just Go With It
|Year: 2011|116 Min.|IMDb|Trailer/Intro
Danny Maccabee (Adam Sandler) meets the girl of his dreams (Brooklyn Decker) but has to enlist his loyal assistant Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) to pretend to be his soon-to-be ex-wife in order to cover up a careless lie. When more lies backfire, Katherine's kids become involved, and everyone heads off to Hawaii for a ridiculous, out-of-control weekend that tests the limits of how far we'll go for love.

National Geographic: Relentless Enemies
It is a spectacle few have seen firsthand. Two foes trapped on an island in a remote part of Africa. And a dramatic battle to survive captured in high-definition over two years by award-winning filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert.

National Geographic travels to a unique battlefield in the Okavango Delta to witness the grueling fight for survival of highly specialized lions that prey almost exclusively on buffalo who are forced to devise defensive tactics in order to fight back. Relentless Enemies tracks the fierce battles from the air and up close for an unforgettable account of a struggle that has been playing out for eons.

I don't know if you have watched Criminal Minds before, but it's really good. A bit sad at times because of the subject matter, but I really am enjoying it. Just discovered it a few ago. They air it a ton on ION so I've been watching theirs, also got seasons 3 and 4 from the library. Watched 3 in 3 days, just started on 4. 1 disc down, 4 to go. Random note: The finale of 3 is a cliff hanger and you'll want to watch the next one right away.

Found out about a couple more early Birthday Presents that I will be getting...

Waitress
|Year: 2007|108 Min.
Don't miss writer-director Adrienne Shelly's sweet, sassy comedy about the power of friendship, motherhood and second chances, starring the radiant Keri Russell who serves up "a hilarious and heartfelt performance" (Rolling Stone).

Jenna (Russell), a small-town waitress with big dreams, has an uncanny gift for baking out-of-this-world pies. Her secret ambition is to win a $25,000 contest, so she can leave her obnoxious husband, open her own pie shop and transform her life. A chance meeting with a handsome newcomer to town just might supply the right ingredients to help Jenna find true happiness.

Crossing Jordan: Season 1
|Year: 2001|1019 Min.
Join a quirky team of misfit coroners willing to put their forensic skills to the test as all 23 Season One episodes of Crossing Jordan, including the memorable pilot, arrive on a 5-disc DVD set for the first time ever! Smart, conflicted and unconventional, Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh (Jill Hennessy) is a forensic pathologist whose obsession for solving homicides goes beyond the autopsy table. But the driving force behind her hard-core, unorthodox investigative style is the one crime she hasn't been able to solve — her mother's murder. Relive some of your favorite Crossing Jordan moments from this first season, including her battles with her boss, Dr. Macy (memorably played by Miguel Ferrer), the first appearance of Detective Woody Hoyt, music by Wendy and Lisa, amazing special effects, and Jordan and her police detective father putting themselves in the roles of victim and killer. From the creator of Heroes comes the fast-paced and funny mystery series that critics rave "is marked by crisp, clever dialogue, and a brassy lead performance" (Steve Johnson, Chicago Tribune).

Reno 911!: The Complete Second Season
|Year: 2004|340 Min.|IMDb|Trailer/Intro
The deputies of Reno 911! are back with a second season even more absurd than the first. Reno 911! The Complete Third Season

I am sitting here watching the first episode (of the first season) of Criminal Minds with my brother. Only half way through the first episode... but so far so good!
