The frequency with which this game is brought to a halt leads me to believe that a new rule is needed where if 24 hours passes without an additional film being listed then the current topic is automatically abandoned. The original poster of the current topic can then tell us the films that complete a list of 13.

We've been on this one since May 23. That's  too long.

I agree with the principle, but not everybody visits every day. How about 72 hours before a topic is abandoned?

13 films with 13 different directors where the director also plays a person who dies in the film. Name the film, the director, and a brief description of how the character dies. The character does not need to be named or have a speaking part, but there needs to be at least a scene in the film where the director/actor can be seen.

1. Gran Torino (Clint Eastwood) shot by gang members

For Gran Torino, a four year old movie where several of the reviews of the time revealed that Clint Eastwood's character sacrificed himself, or for Citizen Kane, a movie released in 1941?

Seriously, I thought there were reviews of Cabin in the Woods, to pick a recent film, that had release week reviews that unduly spoiled the story, but how many years must pass before spoiler-phobic people allow others to discuss a film?
