Seriously, I thought there were reviews of Cabin in the Woods, to pick a recent film, that had release week reviews that unduly spoiled the story, but how many years must pass before spoiler-phobic people allow others to discuss a film?

Regardless of all that, there are many people who have not seen these movies, no matter how old they are or how many reviews have been written, and important plot information is being revealed that could spoil the movie for others. | | | Hal |

Here is an excerpt from the overview of the DVD (UPC 053939656527), taken from the back cover: Quote: Depicting the controversial life of an influential publishing tycoon, this Best Original Screenplay Academy Award® winner (1941) is rooted in themes of power, corruption, vanity — the American Dream lost in the mystery of a dying man's last word: "Rosebud." |

Regardless of all that, there are many people who have not seen these movies, no matter how old they are or how many reviews have been written, and important plot information is being revealed that could spoil the movie for others. I don't see what all this has to do with how "old" a film is? People are watching "old" movies for the first time every day, and don't want to get spoiled about important plot events. IMHO it is just common courtesy to consider the possibility of spoiling a film for someone. Not everyone will be listing movies that everyone knows throughout anyway, like e.g. Citizen Kane. It has all to do with subject of this particular movie game (naming the character who dies in the film + description of it). It is a completely different situation than listing 13 movies where a polo match takes place And why this animosity? Spoiler tags were suggested in order to not ruin a film experience for anyone, what's the harm in that? I didn't see this as a request for "censorship for spoiler-phobics". I see the use of spoiler tags in this case as a matter of consideration for other readers, not as censorship. But of course nobody can force anyone to use the tags - I myself will just stay away from this thread for a couple of pages ... just in case. | | | Mika I hate people who love me, and they hate me. | Posted: | | | | Then this entire thread is all spoilers. This sort of kills the fun of the game for me.
Spoilers exist, folks! New films or old... this thread is nearly 400 pages of spoilers.
Who gets to decide what degree of spoilage requires spoiler hides on every answer?
This remains idiocy. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

This remains idiocy. 13 Movies with a woman's and a man's 1st name in the title. No repeats. 13 films with 'rappers' in them (each rapper may be used only once). Damn spoilers. Ruined these 26 movies for me. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |
