| Posted: | | | | Here's the update so far:
I've got 5 user's headshot backup files integrated into the masterwith 3 more on deck, and we are already up to 33,385 kb! I don't have a count on the actual number of headshots yet, and will probably wait until we get a more complete Master before I count them.
Maybe Ken, or someone developing plugins can assist us with a plugin to give a count of the total entries in the C&C databases and a count of how many are assigned pics?
Many contributors have mentioned that their might not amount to much. I am happy to report that every file has had at least a few pics that no others have had. (I do a restore with 'keep existing' and then backup before the full compare. The Master file has grown every time!) And each file has had at least a few higher quality pics that were selected for the Master.
So, even if you've only added a few on your own - send them in!
I've already got an offer to host the Master file, so I'll see about getting it posted for download once I get caught up.
Now back to comparisons! | | | Juoquim

| Posted: | | | | For those users with backup files greater than 10 MB:
WinZip Instructs for creating smaller archive files:
* Zip your "Cast & Crew only" backup file with WinZip (or some other compression program). * Open the new Zip archive file in WinZip. * On the actions menu, choose Split. * Set the part size to something under 10 MB. (5mb or 9mb works quite well.) * Choose a new name for the archive. * Click OK.
After you have broken the archive up, attach the smaller files to separate emails with total size for the attachments less than 10mb.

| Posted: | | | | Hmmm. I sent mine to you, but it occurs to me now that I'm still adding more as time goes by. Do you want to receive these updated backups occasionally? I don't want to overburden you, sending new backups every week or whatever if that is too often.
BTW, thanks for taking this on. It's a great idea and a huge time saver. | | | "I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world because they'd never expect it." - Jack Handey |

BTW, thanks for taking this on. It's a great idea and a huge time saver. No problem, it's something I've been considering ever since I started adding my own headshots. It's also a whole lot easier to combine a bunch and do a quick compare, than it is to look up every actor on the internet. As my Grandmother always said, "Many hands make short work..." I would say that if you've sent a backup in, send me an updated file after you have added a good chunk of new headshots. Once every week or two should be OK - at least for now. (But then, we've only just gotten started and we're waiting to see how much this takes off!!! ) | | | Juoquim

| Posted: | | | | I must say... when I first read the title of this thread when it was first posted, I thought, What a bunch of wackos! Who would get all worked up over head shots?
As I watched the thread grow, I figured I might as well go ahead and add headshots to my collection. And now I'm thinking, You guys SUCK!
I haven't even finished updating all the headshots yet (I'm at 'G') and I'm already hooked, looking for new shots, looking for better shots, etc...
Yet another way for DVDP to take up my time.
You guys do, indeed, suck. |

| Posted: | | | | at the risk of being flamed, I'll still ask the following silly question:
I don't have a single headshot in my collection yet... and as I understand it, I can just go about getting some pics and then email you the headshots file, right?
or do I need to first get a headshot file from you and then move on from there?
thanks |

Sorry, you did not get it right. You should not send any headshot images. When you have found nice headshot pictures, you enter them into DVDP. Then you make a backup file of cast and crew members only, including headshots. Finally you contribute that backup file into this project Juoquim started. |

thanks As jykke said, send the backup file instead of individual headshots please. We've already got all the headshots from the Headshots collection imported, and that would just be double work on your part. So it would be better to add without importing any shots first. That way, the backup file would be a smaller one to send, and if you happen to add a shot of someone we already have, it might just be a better pic anyway! | | | Juoquim

| Posted: | | | | Juoquim, I have sent you a copy of my cast/crew database. I am afraid it's quite large, but I get the feeling that I have too much time on my hands and too large a DVD collection. /David. |
