Quote: How long have you got???
I just bought a friends collection of 500+ DVDs - mostly box sets and TV series. I'm not quite sure where I want to start. I'm off from work for a few months so I have a lot of time for movies!
So are any of the ones we listed in that collection? If Buffy is there, that's where you need to start. Ignore what everyone else tells you is apparently "the best"; Buffy is it. Especially season two. Television was invented for Buffy Season Two. When John Logie Baird switched on the first TV, he was secretly hoping to see a short blonde girl kicking the heck out of vampires. Maybe that's just a bloke thing ... Lots of wonderful movies - I was able to add to and complete a lot of series. Now I just have to enter everything into DVDP! My list: ALREADY OWN 24 The 4400 Alias Buffy the Vampire Slayer Curb Your Enthusiasm Dead Like Me Desperate Housewives Family Guy Firefly House MD MASH Millennium Nip/Tuck Pretender Prison Break Rescue Me Seinfeld The Simpsons Sliders Smallville Sopranos Southpark Tales from the Crypt Veronica Mars NEW 3rd Rock from the Sun Angel Babylon 5 Battlestar Galactica Battlestar Galactica Bones Dark Angel Deadwood Farscape J.A.G. NCIS Numb3rs The Office Quantum Leap Rome Stargate Atlantis Stargate SG-1 Star Trek: The Original Series Star Trek: DSN Star Trek: TNG Star Trek: Voyager Twin Peaks West Wing The Wild Wild West Xena The X-Files Wish ListThe other recomendations! | Posted: | | | | We watch 24, Deadwood, Lost, Prison Break, Rome, Six Feet Under, Sopranos, The 3300 ... my favorite is Battlestar Galactica - a real shame they're cancelling that show after season 4. Queer as Folk started out nicely enough but we became bored halfway through the second season.
Quite sad that the Sopranos came to an end, and disappoined that Rome and Deadwood bit the dust as well. | | | A smoking section in a bar is just as stupid as a peeing section in a swimmingpool |

It would have been awesome for Firefly to live its full life (the movie was a reader's digest version and promised so much that could have been there). |

That list is missing, Gilmore Girls, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238784/Scrubs, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285403/Over There, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0446241/All awesome series Ill also give my vote to the already mentioned Firefly, Dark Angel, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape and The 4400. Quoting The Buffalo: Quote: my favorite is Battlestar Galactica - a real shame they're cancelling that show after season 4. From what i've heard they show wasnt cancelled, it will end after 4th season, 'cause the creators want to end it. They dont want to artificially prolong the serie. So the story ends. | | | Last edited: by whispering |

the Original BSG was great but the new one is even better, I'm a die hard fan of the original too and refused to watch it for the same reasons - they changed Starbuck, ty ..oh and boomers a girl too but that said it is a great show and well worth the Name of BSG I have to say i was very suprised but they have done it really well and incorporated most of if not all of the original ethos and the atmosphere is electrical Baltars role is more pronounced and theres a few cliffhangers that piss you off a little as you have to wiat but if you get the series is not so bad - I'd recommend seeing "the Mini-Series" first to see if you like the feel then follow through with the series 1-2 at the monent 3s out later in the year but they're ending it at the end of Series 4 as they don't want it to loose its feel and to loose the original concept that has made it well worth watching | | | regards rorschach999

| Posted: | | | | A few of my favorites that did not appear on the list...........
some one seasoners
Lock, Stock... -- As good as the movie Odyssey 5 -- very solid sci-fi from showtime. Peter Weller is awesome in this. Surface -- sea monsters Invasion -- pretty well done alien theme
And another
Le Femme Nikita -- set the stage for modern spy TV, very slick.
And then a couple of mini-series
Taken -- pretty well done alien theme, sometimes bogs down in the middle though. Into the West -- epic detailing manifest destiny |
