Also not everyone on the forums is a native english speaker, so may not have got the joke anyway.

It was a joke, didn't you read the two lines prior to the PS? If this would be really a joke (I'm not convinced about this anyway..) a small hint like a smiley could mitigate this offensive remark! No statement, no apology. This was definitely a well calculated affront! | | | | Thorsten |

Indeed the comment was un-called for & inappropriate. I believe the comments that followed were sufficient, to show the collective disgust, & caused the poster to re-think such comments. Punishment with a bad star, had (IMHO) no effect in altering the behavior. A moderator would have deleted the remark, instantly & we would not spend two pages publicly discussing the matter. Like I've said before, the stars system is slow to react when its most needed.

I still don't see it as a joke, not even as satire. Now I understand why some people prefer to give negative marks anonymously, I still prefer to say that I did give a negative (it was my first) and why. So, to the anonymous who didn't even have the guts to say why: What was it for? For giving a negative in general, or for not understanding a "joke" that was at it's best inappropriate? Both doesn't justify a negative because both isn't violating any forum rules. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

Undeserved bad stars will always be a problem, as long as the current system is in place. The stars system gives power to individuals, who should not have it. Yes I know a few random bad stars, does not adversely affect my reputation, but still it's bothersome. Yes I know the admins are supposedly removing, undeserved bad stars, but this seems rare.
