Just an FYI, pricing has come out and the Lifetime is still there: €109 or $125 US. There's something on there about discounts and those who bought after 12/1/15, so you'll need to read up. However, they still need to set up a payment system.

Personally, Passkey does what I need it to (I don't use it to back up discs) but RedFox might be an option for others. Not paying that much, even with a 20% discount again.

Agreed, they can shove it. I'm not paying again, especially for a measly 20% discount off an already expensive license. I don't care for how they've handled this at all.

And the problem is, who knows how long "RedFox" will last. In another 2-3 years they can get "shut down" again and re-brand as FuchsiaFox.

EXACTLY! That is one of the main reasons why I would be hesitant to lay down $$$ with them.

The cut off date - 2015-12-01 - is simply mocking. Two months, before going down...

The 20% discount is not really generous either, in a segment where discounts are granted all the year... - sometimes up to 50%

They lost a customer.

On one hand I was surprised but on the other I wasn't surprised that they brought back the LTL; most likely due to all of the backlash.  But I still think they underestimated the consumer backlash due to not honoring existing licenses on top of the normal Slysoft discount.  Unfortunately, it doesn't help when some consumers are falling all over themselves to tell RedFox they'll do anything that RedFox asks of them.

Amazingly enough, I fall into the cutoff group, so that's something. For me, anyway.

I'm running the current version which took my lifetime key from Slysoft's version. It still says I have free updates forever.

It shows on their website where it will work until May 31st, and then will probably cut off from the online database.

I'm seeing some comments on their forum that updating to 8.0.1.0 gives an "invalid license" error.

I guess this will be the end of AnyDVD for me, I'm not paying these jokers the prices they're asking again.

Their arrogance and disdain for some of their customers has put my off.  If you don't agree with the, or hold the same, opinions of some of the blind followers and mods then they are aggressive toward and attack those customers.  They've even gone so far as to lock threads because those threads aren't trending their way and to delete posts.  It seems they've been doing a wholesale cleansing of the forum and old discussions on the change because for the past two days my message count continues to drop significantly.  In facet, their newest mod, Chevron, has stated as much because he sees those threads as not being relevant to the current state.

I noticed that also. I just don't feel comfortable giving them any money.

To expand on my statement, I an running the current version from the NEW company, Redfox not Slyfox, and it took my Slyfox lifetime key and seems to be honoring it.

But are you still able to access the online database to decrypt new discs? Mine stopped working after 5/31.

I dropped in a disc and it AnyDVD HD reports "Warning, OPD error: HTTP error 404!" so looks like the OPD database is not available, but it still unencrypted the disc.

I haven't purchased a new disc in awhile so I don't know if it's simply using a cached copy. If AnyDVD doesn't work for me any longer, MakeMKV may since it does its own decryption and recommendeds not to use AnyDVD with it.
