| Posted: | | | | Hello Juoquim,
I emailed my headshots backup on June 6th. It's 32MB and is a combination of the dougweb downloads, jykkes database, and a few hundred of my own additions or updates. The backup is sent in 4 parts. If you didn't receive them, just let me know. Sorry the file is so large, I already imported a lot when this post was launched.
Thanks to Jykke for public posting of his backup. It provided some nice updates!

First and foremost... they would be copyrighted.. then there is also they contribution process... you would see ping-ponging contributions like crazy where everyone would prefer the headshot they found better then what was there. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I've never played around with this feature before. It does sound like fun though. Pardon me for jumping into things late here and perhaps this issue has already been brought up, but if you put a 2007 picture of an actor to a 2007 movie, what happens when that same actor starred in another movie 15 years ago? You'd have a current picture of an older actor when you'd probably want a younger picture to go with the earlier movie... Is this just something you have to decide on and choose a single picture that will be associated with an actor regardless of the year the move was made? |

Ron: I have a few files left to integrate, and the Master is right at 92 mb right now. One of the users has volunteered to host it, and I hope to get the first run online sometime this week. Also, I will put out a list of all the submissions I have received in a few days so I can make sure I haven't missed integrating anyone's contribution. Then once it's online I will ask everyone to go through it as they have time to check for errors and let me know. I'll post a short list I have of some common errors I have noted (like Harrison "Han Solo" Ford's picture for the Harrison Ford from the 1800's and Warwick Davis' picture for a female actor). I haven't gotten started on the R-rated master headshot DB yet, but that will follow once we have a good "somewhat family-firendly" Master online. We do have a request from our hoster for help with setting up his website for this from all you web gurus: Quote: I'd like to have something that keeps statistics on it like how many downloads and all, since it will be interesting stats for the community, and it will allow me control how much bandwidth it gobbles up and makes sure I don't end up with crazy charges because.
BTW he has a HEFTY chunk of bandwidth so we don't expect this to cause a problem, we only want to make sure it doesn't if half the world decides to use DVDP and download the headshot master. . If there's someone that can help out, PM me and I'll put you in touch. Thanks everyone! | | | Juoquim

| Posted: | | | | One thing you can maybe do is to break up the master file into multiple chunks and have different people host different chunks. That way the net load is split up.
I have a business fiber connection and I can host one of the chunks if you go this route. |
