| Posted: | | | | My first DVD was a Christmas gift, the Collector's Edition of Fast Times at Ridgemont High received in 1999. I didn't purchase my first player until Black Friday of 2000.
I'm in the 1000+ club now, but I never did open that first copy of FTARH (acquired the "Special Edition" last year). |

| Posted: | | | | Mine was "Cool Runnings" I think - I cannot remember that far back! I have been collecting for so long and I only found out about DVDP last year. I still have it but not the same copy as that one went funny and I replaced it (disc deterioration that will will not play on any machine except PS2 and I don't own one, so I gave it to my sister who does). | | | <---------Mithrandir, Laverne and Shirley Caroline |

| Posted: | | | | Bought my first DVD player in October 1997 , it was the Sony 3000 model ( the 7000 was the more expensive model -playback DTS/5.1) ), ,but the 3000 model which does not play back DVDR, or any other type of Burnt CD's cost me in US dollars........... $699.00 !!!!! ( kinda of like the first CD players on the market in 1980 were $999.. ) The first DVD's I purchased - 3 of them --Woodstock /Executive Decision/ and The Mask. all just under $30.00. ( these type titles today would sell for $9.99 ) Oh my most recent player (toshiba) , audio playback includes DTS and plays back all formats including JPG's MPG's DVDR+ and - etc.. for $57.00 | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | My first DVD movie was THE BEST MAN and I knew that I could never return to video tapes. I played it over and over agian. I couldn't believe how clear and beautiful it was. Now I've seen Blu-Ray and I am a retired Senior Ciitizen, if it wins out, how will I ever afford it. |
