I cannot believe anyone would want such a change, regardless of 'screen credit proof'. But yes, according to the rules as they currently stand, someone could come along and change it Well, if you had asked me what I 'want', you would have gotten a different answer. For the most part, I think the possesives are a pain in the arse. If someone wants to 'add by title', they have to know it is 'John Carpenter's Escape From New York' and not 'Escape From New York'. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. If you pause the credits at "Alfred Hitchcock's" then go forward frame-by-frame, you will see that the two parts of the title actually disolve from one into the other. At one point, portions of "Alfred Hitchcock's" & portions of "The Birds" are in the same frame . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Found a few more movies we've mistitled based on this new method of calculating movie names.
To Catch A Thief Notorious Spellbound
I can do this all night, guys. It's an easy game, anyone can play. Grab any Alfred Hitchcock movie in your collection and watch the first two minutes worth of credits. So far, I'm batting about .950 that each title is preceded by Alfred Hitchcock's....I haven't gotten to the early UK years yet, so perhaps there'll be a change of pace then.
I humbly submit that 8ball is the one spinning. Either that or he's got a whole boatload of title changes to submit. Actually, it's not even spin, just inconsistency. But again, don't take my word for it. You all have the same movies I have. Check for yourselves. |

That gets me down to about 75%. Still, it's a wonder we caught this with "The Birds" and no other title. Perhaps not many people own Hitchcock films? | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |

During this amazing "both portions" frame, is it possible to distinquish any words, whatsoever? Yeah, that's what I thought. Oh heck, this is what I could find. Do you have a better frame? I mean if this is what you want to hang your hat on to justify the movie title, more power to you. Regardless, we're talking like this movie is isolated and special when I've already demonstrated that it's a drop in the bucket. | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |

I guess it was an appropriate word as the title is 'The Birds'. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. The above took 2 minutes to find in my collection. Do we really believe these are the correct ways to record the titles?? I'd argue a case for some of the ones you've listed. | | | Guns don't kill people. Hammers do. |

The film is referred to as The Birds by Hitchcock at least a half a dozen times. http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/1999/hitchcock/interview/index.html Bogdanovich is a renowned Hitchcock scholar and lists the title in the Filmography for Hitchcock as The Birds: http://www.moma.org/exhibitions/1999/hitchcock/filmography.html For some light entertainment, here is a link to a quiz on Hitchcock. If you score 15-20 you can continue to participate in this discussion. (I scored 19. Got number 15 wrong). No cheating now. http://www.grandtimes.com/hitchcock.html |
