Tallying has begun. Any changes made to your list won't be noticed.

Pity! Finished my list late last night...

Anyway, please ignore the first list, it was a copy of the American Film Institute's
list of the 100 Greatest Movies.

Well, if you've got a completely brand new list feel free to post it. I'll ignore your previous list either way.

I realize my list is mostly newer movies, but I'm young...so that's to be expected.  Most of the movies people are listing are way before my time.

1. The Matrix
2. The Dark Knight
3. Casino Royale
4. Lord of the Rings: Two Towers
5. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
6. Iron Man
7. Blood Diamond
8. Gran Torino
9. Wall-E
10. Fight Club
11. Ocean's 11
12. Bourne Identity
13. The Prestige
14. Mission Impossible III
15. Memento
16. The Departed
17. The Last Samurai
18. Wanted
19. Batman Begins
20. Perfect Blue
21. V for Vendetta
22. Harry Potter: Sorcerer's Stone (Philosopher's)
23. The Game
24. Se7en
25. Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets

I also realize that most of these movies are far from "classics" or what many would consider well done films, but I enjoyed watching them all the same.  Very hard to make an accurate list too...I found myself just kinda throwing up names rather than really trying to figure out which of these 25 I liked better than the other.

Edit: I didn't include years, but I think in every case it'll be the newer version. I believe every one of these movies are from the 90s and 2000's.

It'd be interesting to see these same lists tallied using different methods (resulting in different overall lists). One way I'd be curious to see is to have an age handicap applied (i.e. older films given advantage over newer ones). Of course, doing this, there'd be a level of subjective bias, and the level of the handicap could drastically alter the results.

e.g. For each nomination, +1pt per decade

He posted them awhile back, but in a new thread which might be why you missed it. Here's a link for it though.

After wrangling with my list for a bit it's come down to:

The Dark Crystal (1982, USA)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920, USA [dir: John S. Robertson])
A Scanner Darkly (2006, USA)
King Kong (1933, USA)
Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space (2002, Japan)
The Descent (2005, UK)
A Clockwork Orange (1971, USA)
Save the Green Planet! (2003, South Korea)
H.G. Wells' The Time Machine (1960, USA)
Stalker (1979, USSR)
The Fifth Element (1997)
The City of Lost Children (1995, France)
1984 (1984, UK)
My Neighbor Totoro (1988, Japan)
The Grave of the Fireflies (1988, Japan)
Starship Troopers (1997, USA)
King of the Ants (2003, USA [dir: Stuart Gordon])
Pan's Labyrinth (2006, Mexico)
12 Monkeys (1995, USA)
Romper Stomper (1992, Australia)
High Tension (2003, France)
The Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001, France)
In China They Eat Dogs (1999, Denmark)
Donnie Darko (2001, USA)
Naked Lunch (1991, Canada)

The following didn't make it, but on repeat views may have what it takes to knock something else out:
Red Cliff (2008, China)
Quo Vadis (1951, USA)
Perfect Blue (1997, Japan)

I came back to see how my tastes have changed in the nearly two years since I generated this list, and boy, has it ever changed!

Although I'm not sure what the new list would look like, I can see glaring differences! Among obvious changes are the addition of movies I hadn't seen in 2009 - Godzilla (1954), Psycho (1960), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), and the dropping of some that no longer appeal (as much), or that I've still not gotten around to rewatching.
