So Avatar is out one (1) sale because you do not like the movie.  Still doesn't change the fact that so many people did like the movie that it's setting records.

Clearly James Cameron has done something right.  The numbers speak for themselves.

All i will say is America makes most of the best films ever made but the majority of the people there have a very poor taste in films.

And here as well to. Why? Cause people are more casual in there viewing habits and are less likely to watch things of a more profound nature and seem to op for the lowest common denominator.

And it's a shame i guess cause it was not always so. Im not a total snob i mean i like some bad stuff or i will buy something so bad just because it's so bad like Southland Tales.

But as a film fan and not some causal watcher i don't really care for things like Avatar much as there not really films for film lovers.

Just popcorn fodder for the ignorant masses.

You know what, I find your fodder about Americans extremely offensive. I don't usually get into these types of discussions because it's just name calling and names don't hurt anyone. You have no idea what anyone else thinks about what is good or bad. I might say the same thing about your choice in films, but I would never do that because your opinion of what is good or bad, for you that is, is your choice and that's great for you. Stop putting down other people just because they don't think the way you do. This is the last time I will say anything about this, but you really push my buttons the wrong way and trust me you are also one of the ignorant masses. Sorry to anyone offended by my remarks.

You had noticed i also said here as well not just saying America. These films are popcorn fodder because they have no real substance.

Im not saying it's good or bad or what people should do but the the majority of people do seem to like such films and i find it rather sad.

Sorry. I agree with you. The Troll has admitted he writes things to get attention, and cannot ever write anything positive, so he goes with crapslinging. He knows zero about any film made before 1970, and thinks that's a good thing. I blocked him and except for reactions like yours where you quote him, I miss him not at all.

But you're right.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I'm just sorry I was drawn in, but sometimes the mouth goes in gear before the brain.

I don't watch a movie for some deep seeded message about hope or imminent destruction or doom if I don't change my ways.

I get enough of that hearing people all around, and I don't listen to them either.

If I watch a movie, it is for the enjoyment of watching a movie.  It may be a comedy, or a stupid comedy, or a love story, or adventure.  Whatever I am in the mood for.

I have never come out of a movie wondering if I need to change my ways or alter my thinking.  If that is happening, then I am not enjoying the movie.  Don't put down my choice of movies, just because you think it has no poignant meaning in  todays society.

Found it interesting that one of the production companies (Dune Entertainment) wasn't listed in my studio base when I was editing the title.,  Avatar plot which has been compared to Dances with Wolves, Pocahointas and the 1984 movie Dune ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
