| Posted: | | | | I've been on many forums over the years. I like good thoughtful discussions. Every forum has good people and a few who are not so good. Among some annoying people you meet on some forums are those who would flounder in face-to-face social interaction. They are emboldened by their power on the internet and discover that they can act out as they wish. Some of them respond to being called on their bad behavior, others thrive on being called out and act up worse to gain even more attention. Good, effective low-key moderation can help, but other forums have instituted moderation and wound up with authoritaritan cops rather than effective moderators.
When evil posts drive good people away, the forums degrade into unpleasant places. What I ask is difficult... if you (yes, I'm talking to you personally) like civil forums, respect for opposing viewpoints, and meeting various people who share an interest, then stay here. Ignore evil. Act like you are the shining example. If we each expect to behave better than everyone else, and can live with the occasional idiot troll, then this forum will grow stronger, and not become a place for evil to breed.
I am tired of the best of us leaving here, letting this place be overrun by those who drive us out. We have the greater numbers. Why expect anyone else to clean up the mess? We must do it ourselves. Step up and keep this forum strong! It IS hard... but we can do it if we want to. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

By lumping ppl into two different categories, i say that makes you worse. It evokes the sense you have a superiority complex. As if automatically your on the side of the just and true with no real meaning or evidence as to why. This is something i detest in ppl more. Because for all Skips flaws and all of my flaws we are both equals. Seriously come down off your high horse and stop looking down your nose at every one. |

Obviously im not worthy of an explanation as to why you think this. But oh please im all ears wise sage, I beg you, humour me with your greater understanding and crush my wicked ignorance in all it's EVIL unholiness that disgusts you so. | Posted: | | | | Anyone who misses Kathy (like myself) can find her at DVD Collectors Online. A forum where there are rarely issues of this nature. It's just lots of folks from here and a few other not from here hanging out, talking, discussing movies, etc. As for the rest, I've seen nothing here that hasn't been said roughly once or twice per year for the past 10 years. Nor have I seen anything different from Invelos. I see no point in adding anything in that regard except to express my gratitude to Invelos for not locking this thread. While they may not correct the problem, it's nice of them to at least let people blow off some steam. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | We are usually a nice group as many can say. Like Mark said we talk movies wich is the reason why we needed a cataloging software in the first place. You could be surprise to discover that I'm a nice guy contrary to what my few posts usually reflect here |

| Posted: | | | | Hate to see you leave Kathy. But as I have noted in some recent posts, Kathy as with some other users seems to believe that she can take pot shots at me amnd make disparaging remarks about me as noted by her OP in this thread. But even with that said Kathy, i will miss you. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

So, the only reason to come here is the lolcats-thread and the plugin board. | | | Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer. |

| Posted: | | | | Kathy, it is with sorrow that I saw you are leaving these forums. I can understand the sentiment as I too no longer contribute to anything much in the forum with the exception of the LolCats and Loldogs threads, which I find amusing and lighthearted. I stopped looking into the other threads when I found the same problems as you did with regards to the nastiness! I do hope that you are not gone forever Caroline | | | <---------Mithrandir, Laverne and Shirley Caroline |

It's a damn shame Invelos doesn't have the balls to actually step up and do something about it, and would instead rather lose people that actually contribute to their software. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com
