You are arguing based on your interpretation and I am arguing based on mine, simple, Tim.

Wrong: I'm following the rules, you're violating them, that's all. Please answer my question: Is Mike Post credited with one of the four acceptable job descriptions in the third column of the rules on the "composer" credit? Or even anything close? Yes or no? The bottom line is if his credit doesn't fit the list of acceptable job descriptions for "composer", we can't give him that credit. Can't you see that from that point on, anything else you've said is a personal preference?

Hold everything! This is just wrong!
Skip is the one who is supposed to say he doesn't interpret the rules! Did you guys swap identities?

Are you certain it's the Twilight Zone "Theme" or is it a song?

I just want to add two things that may or may not be helpful.

T!M, I don't believe Skip is violating the rules with a no vote. It is simply a matter of personal opinion. And I do not believe there is anything in the rules that states someones personal opinion is a violation.

Second, and you and I have agreed on this...
PLEASE Ken or Geri, let us know what you feel should be done. All this situation is doing is keeping a schoolyard fight going on and on.

I have decided each time to give a neutral vote every time this is submitted. Not because I am a coward on voting, but because I want to leave it up to K&G.

Let's move on to something better like whether Han really shot first, or should we hang George Lucas for putting Hayden Christensen in his "remastered" Jedi.

My G-d this thread has almost as many pages as the fifth Harry Potter book!

Am I mistaken, or did the Mystery Movie Theme not play as the intro to other than Columbo? Wasn't the Mystery Movie a rotation of Columbo and a couple of other shows? It's been way too many years and I was just a kid, but I thought there was a rotation and they ALL opened with the same theme. If that is indeed the case, then IMO it is not original to any of them.

You are correct.  I remember this from when I was younger.  But don't take my word for it...

I looked it up and it is, indeed, the theme for the NBC Mystery Movie 'umbrella' series.  As such, it is not part of the original score and does not qualify for a profiler credit.

You can read about it on Wikipedia here, but the pertinent text is as follows:

The Mystery Movie theme music was composed by Henry Mancini. The opening credits consisted of a mysterious figure carrying a flashlight slowly walking towards the camera as images representing the various rotating series appeared in cameos on the side of the screen; at the end, an announcer presents that night's stars and series (example: "Starring Peter Falk as Columbo"). It was also the same opening used in Ironside for it's second season. Some syndicated episodes of Columbo retain this opening credit sequence, though slowed down towards the end to avoid showing the title caption which includes "NBC" and (after the first season), a day of the week.

All this fuss and it turns out that it can't be used as it is not a part of the Columbo score.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

You are talking about something entirely different, Unicus. You are talking about the old NBC Mystery Movie SERIES. This discussion is in refernce to the Columbo Movies which were made AFTER the run of the series.
