I believe sarcastistic would be the correct term.  And sarcasm is typically rooted in belief.

No, facetious was the correct term for how I read the post but, as I said, I could be wrong and it very well may have been sarcasm.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Kindly explain this reference.  I do not believe that I have mentioned the bible or any religious reference of any kind.

Or do you just like to bash the bible for the fun of it?

I don't recall saying that you did. As for bashing the bible, all I did was state an opinion that it's fiction.

scotthm said, and I am paraphrasing here, that there is something wrong with people who enjoy slasher films.  A generalization that, IMHO, is idiotic on it's face.

My, my, such a lot of commotion about one seemingly innocuous opinion.

I see you've been peeking at my collection.

I even have two 'R' rated movies in there, though I haven't actually watched either of them yet.

I am sorry, but your statement, as with most generalizations about a group of people, was anything but innocuous.

Indeed I have.  Someone who made the type of statement you did should not own films that depict human suffering for entertainment purposes.  JMHO.

(In general), if people would realize that generalizations are just that, and not statements aimed at them specifically, they would get far less offended.  There is no need for anyone here to take what I've said personally, unless they feel my statements have hit unconfortably close to home, in which case I'm sorry to have offended you.

Who said I found such films entertaining?  I have several films that I have discovered to be not especially entertaining.
