My Thoughts:
This is another movie I haven't seen until now. I wanted to watch this one with my daughter... but she wouldn't have any part of this one for some reason. But I still enjoyed it quite a bit... even if I did have to watch it on my own. The father being an artist/inventor did make him out to be a bit out there... but I guess he had to be where the story had to go. I really liked Anna Paquin in this early role... probably one of her first roles... as the teen age girl that had to fly the geese south for the winter. I really became a fan of hers after seeing her in the Showtime series True Blood. So it is pretty cool seeing her in such an early role. I also liked Dana Delaney as the father's girlfriend. As I said... I really enjoyed this one. A real feel good type movie.

Title: I Know What You Did Last Summer
Year: 1997
Director: Jim Gillespie
Rating: R
Length: 101 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1, Pan & Scan 1.33:1

Plot:
Jennifer Love Hewitt (from TV's Party of Five) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Scream 2) star with Freddie Prinze, Jr., Ryan Phillippe and Johnny Galecki in this terrifying tale of a body that just won't stay dead.

After an accident on a winding road, four teens make the fatal mistake of dumping their victim's body into the sea. But exactly one year later, the dead man returns from his watery grave, and he's looking for more than an apology. I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER is a "pure fright machine (that) scares the hell out of you!" - Norman Wilner, Toronto Star

Extras:
Scene Access
Audio Commentary

My Thoughts:
This one is not what I would call a favorite... but I do enjoy it now and again. Even though this is little more then an entertaining teen slasher... I do enjoy seeing the familiar faces. Just to name a few we have one of my all-time favorites Jennifer Love Hewitt who I absolutely adored in Ghost Whisperer, then there was Sarah Michelle Gellar who was of course Buffy the Vampire Slayer and then there was Johnny Galecki who was in Roseanne and is currently starring in The Big Bang Theory. But as I was saying... over all not a terrible horror. It is entertaining for what it is... but don't go into this one with too high of expectations.

Ronin!  De Niro and some of the best car chases in recent memory.  And a darn good movie to boot.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Thanks for the suggestion... I just watched the trailer... and while it looks like a very good movie... I just not in the mood for it today. Though it is one I plan on watching before too long.

Title: The Mask of Zorro
Year: 1998
Director: Martin Campbell
Rating: PG-13
Length: 137 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, English: Dolby Digital: 5.1
Subtitles: English

Stars:
Jose Maria de Tavira
Deigo Sieres
Emiliano Guerra
Yolanda Orizaga
Paco Morayta
William Marquez

Plot:
The original Zorro, Don Diego de la Vega, is captured and imprisoned just as Spain concedes California to Santa Anna. 20 years go by and his mortal enemy, Don Rafael Montero, returns to California with a plan to become wealthy at the expense of the peasants.

The story of an aging blade (Anthony Hopkins) passing along his wisdom and his edge to an angry young thief (Antonio Banderas). The young Zorro learns about politics, love, and war, at the feet of his teacher. His quest for personal revenge gives fire to his role as Colonial Mexico's most swashbuckling activist, one who must fight for his country and his woman (the ravishing newcomer Catherine Zeta-Jones, also quite handy with a sword).

My Thoughts:
I decided to watch this movie mainly for the fact that I never seen the sequel... The Legend of Zorro... even though I have owned it for almost a year now (got it for my birthday last year). Since I plan on watching it here soon I wanted to remind myself of this one first. I must say... I forgot how much fun this movie is. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It has plenty of good action/adventure as well as just the right amount of comedy mixed in. The movie is also well paced... you never feel the least bit bored while watching. And the entire cast does a great job. And of course Catherine Zeta-Jones looked just amazing. This is one I definitely feel comfortable recommending.

Your tastes of favorite films and mine diverge wildly... yet, I would recommend the South Park film, which can bring out the 12-year-old boy in me.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I would also recommend the South Park film. It's funny, non-p.c. and one of those films you're a bit embarrassed to admit you like so much. However there is singing. A fair amount of it. Just FYI.

You own Deuce Bigalow? I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do for you? This has to be one of the worst movies ever made. I couldn't even sit through it. It's awful. It's not even funny like South Park is funny, where you laugh anyway, no matter the topic because they could make it funny.

Maybe some people liked it, but it's horrible. And that's my opinion...I'm sure there are some people, maybe, I guess, somewhere, out there that liked it, but for me, I'd either put it on the bottom of your pile to watch or burn it. I like burning.

My Thoughts:
I have been curious about this film for some time now. Seen several good reviews for it. And I basically agree. Though I did have a bit of trouble with the subtitles. I am a rather slow reader so there was some pausing and rewinding going on... even though most the dialog was fairly short and to the point.... some of it was not. I like how they built up this movie... basically going from a drama to a psychotic horror movie. There is some graphic violence in this one. It is a pretty disturbing film. And it is one that will leave you thinking well after the movie is over. If you never seen this one... it is definitely worth checking out.
