| Posted: | | | | Title: Inagawa Junji no Densetsu no Horaa (J-Horror Anthology: Legends) Movie Count: 9 Other Count: 2 An anthology of six short Japanese ghost stories. An entertaining and fun collection of short films. The second ("Kumma Onna" or "She-Bear") is easily the most horrific of the tales, and "Nurari Hyon" isn't even close to horror despite being a ghost story. However, despite the mildness of many of the tales and the low budget effects, all of them were enjoyable and most were spooky enough ghost stories. Verdict: 2.5/5 (a tolerable, entertaining waste of time) | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

Like it's companion (J-Horror Anthology: Legends) this is an entertaining and fun collection of short films. "Tattoo" is probably the scariest of them, and "Guardian Angel" really isn't a horror tale despite being a ghost story. Again, the stories are mild on the horror and the effects are low budget, but all were enjoyable and most were spooky enough for ghost stories. | Posted: | | | | Title: The Nightmare Before Christmas Movie Count: 11 Other Count: 2 Jack Skellington, the ruler of Halloween, is bored with his existence and looking for something fresh and new. Lo and behold, he stumbles upon Christmas... A stunning masterpiece of creepy gothic imagery and magnificent stop-motion animation. Everything fits together with perfect symmetry. Yes, it's loved by lots of Hot-Topic-worshiping wanna-be goths, but we'll forgive it that. At least they enjoy something good. A not-to-be-missed classic of the season. Verdict: 4.5/5 (Just short of a masterpiece) | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | Title: The Rocky Horror Picture Show Movie Count: 12 Other Count: 2 Brad and Janet, a naive young couple, stumble into a debauched bisexual alien scientist's laboratory and find themselves caught up in his lifestyle. Another classic of the season. Not to be missed as a theatrical experience, but also fun with a group of friends gathered around. I'd be hard put to find a film that is more sheer fun to watch than this. Yes, it's not the best made film, but it has a lot to say (more than many better made films) and it's such a riot of a good time. I freaking love this film. Verdict: 3/5 (solidly entertaining, worth watching) * ++++ (actually, one of my favorite films just counting how much I enjoy it) * subtract 1 point if you've never seen any old sci-fi or horror films, subtract 2 if you're homophobic | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield | | | Last edited: by Danae Cassandra |

| Posted: | | | | I didn't do well at all this year. Only 24 movies... 12 TV episodes.. and 4 Other. Well... at least I did break last year's record for Other. I may try to get something watched today... but I won't add it to the marathon as it is a lost cause anyway. This morning I did watch last night's Halloween episodes for Ghost Whisperer and Medium... Ghost Whisperer... while good... disappointed me a little. Spoiler: (Select to view)While it did have some scenes of A headless horseman... it really didn't have anything to do with the legend of Sleepy Hallow. I would have preferred that they had it so The Legend of Sleepy Hallow was based in fact and she was facing the actual headless horseman But I really enjoyed Medium... I thought they did that episode very well. I liked the mixture of the actual movie with the cast from Medium. I could actually watch this one again! | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting bizarre_eye: Quote: I'd hoped to watch more, but there's always next year I suppose... You aren't the only one... Even if I've watched 52 movies, 44 of them were seen in the first half of the month. One thing for sure next year I won't let DVDP choose the movie to watch, since too many average movie pick had bored me. |
