Yeah. I suspect whoever submitted it might've added the cast and crew which might add time to it.

But like I said, I would be willing to volunteer time to review new contributions, even if only once a week, still better than 10+ days.

But "second level reviewing", which includes contributions of entirely new profiles, contributions that include new birth years, or contributions that have drawn at least one no-vote, still is a manual process, and that's no longer being done every day or even every week. On average, it's more like once every ten days now.

The one that got me to start this thread is going on 20 days now (guessing the person who submitted it was either 9/5 or 9/6).

Personally, I'd volunteer but there's no way to contact them.

So I've noticed that the new contributions seem to take well over two weeks to get approved and released. But just a month ago I looked at one of mine which only took 5 days...

It's impressive that she, unless there were rumors otherwise, kept her wits about her. 96 years old. Amazing.

I can understand people who want to subscribe to a streaming service to watch something once or twice, but I don't understand the desire to "purchase" digital content unless it can be downloaded locally and viewed whenever (and on whatever device) one chooses.

Personally, I've stopped using child profiles for the Blu-ray disc of 4K/Blu-ray combo sets, and for the DVD disc in Blu-ray/DVD combo sets (and am in the process of actively removing existing ones from my database), as they really didn't add any value for me. I just got tired of seeing pointless double profiles for the same movies, and they just bloated my database, with additional sets of the same cast and crew, additional sets of the same cover scans, and so on. Any cast/crew corrections I was doing always had to be copied over to the child, and therefore prompted two individual contributions instead of one. Back-ups took longer, and resulted in bigger files (again: double sets of cover scans). And all for what? Nothing. I was getting absolutely nothing from these child profiles. So I'm getting rid of them.

I'm in the same boat. I never contribute child profiles at all and slowly been going through my collection and removing them from my database.

This came up three years ago:

Personally, since the Blu-ray child profile is optional, the features should be added to the parent profile.

Just curious, do you think "Digitally Remastered" belongs in the Edition field? In my case, it is on the front cover. No big deal either way, just the first time I remember encountering it.

Blu-ray drives also read DVDs. Heck, I have a 4K drive that reads Blu-rays and DVDs.

Sounds similar to the case Paramount has used on some of their complete series releases. I hate those. Good luck finding a replacement.

Depends on what your definition of inexpensive is. I use the Pioneer BDR-XD07UHD external drive for this to submit profiles by Disc ID (also use it for my own site use as well). Has worked so far in the past year I've had it. However, it's like $127.

Slippery slope, but given that Arrow Video has been contributed and allowed in the edition field (with Arrow Films in the Media Company slot), I'd say yes.

This sounds like you can do a BD/DVD combo pack situation and have the disc 2 theatrical cut as a child profile. You'd have to remove the dual credits from the main profile, explaining your reason for doing so, of course.

I agree with this and have seen this done in similar situations.  An example is the new UHD release of Donnie Darko (also by Arrow).

Good call. Thanks
