| Posted: | | | | Just checking: when, deep down the end credits, there's a "Visual Effects by <company name>" header, and within that group there's not just a "Visual Effects Supervisor" credit, but also a "Director of Photography" credit? This is not the main unit's director of photography - that DoP is already credited in the opening credits. It's purely the director of photography of the visual effects unit. I'm seeing a couple of users submitting these - are these valid entries? That would mean that we don't just get visual effects group headers in the "Art" section of the crew, but also in the "Cinematography" crew section... I always thought this was covered by the contribution rules, that state: Quote: Do not enter unit crew such as "Unit Photographer" So, should we include visual effects unit directors of photography, or any other non-"Visual Effects"-jobs found in "Visual Effects by <company name>" groups? I'm personally not enthousiastic about this: if we allow visual effects unit directors of photography, then there'd be no reason to exclude, say, a director of photography listed as part of an "Underwater Unit" or an "Aerial Unit" - either we're after the film's main unit director of photography and stop right there, or they're all in... Are they in or out? |
