Is there a way to make "The 4400" into a box set? |

| Posted: | | | | The "4400 Complete Series" is actually a box set, consisting of the box sleeve which holds two HD Keep Cases. One case holds seasons 1 & 2, while the other holds seasons 3 & 4. Each has separate cover art. But, they were never released in this configuration, so there is no EAN (Australia release).
How does one create two separate entries whereby the two keepcases are entered with their disc IDs and their cover artwork? | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |

Once you've created the two custom profiles, add the individual discs to each one, then add the two sets to the main set.
(At least, I *think* that's how to do it. It's been a while since I made a profile like that.)
It's fiddly, but it's easy enough once you've got used to it. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks, I'll dig into that more. BTW, the overall collection is already in the database. Just need to flesh it out. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) | | | Last edited: by MrVideo |

| Posted: | | | | I've started the ground work as suggested by @AlunH. I probably have something set wrong because when the profile is created, it sets DVD/BD/4K as the media types. No idea why that isn't detected automatically. Obviously a disc can't be all 3 media types. Also, when I uncheck DVD/4K, the no region setting resorts to region B, based on the UK location. No idea why it does that either, even though I initially set no region. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |

| Posted: | | | | One can't create a profile only based upon the title. Contribution not allowed. I therefore used the first disc in order to be able to create the profiles. I've submitted the updated profiles, so we'll see what happens. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know of a way to do this. I can't create a unique ID (EAN or disc ID) for the sub-box set "The 4400 S1 & S2" and "The 4400 S3 & S4."
Never mind! Got it. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) | | | Last edited: by MrVideo |

| Posted: | | | | I think if you have a TV series box set and only the overall box set has it's own EAN, you can't submit the individual seasons separately. You have to simply put everything into the overall box set profile and just list all the disc ID's within that. It's a limitation in the programme as you've discovered, (as I did a few years back).
This is because the individual seasons don't have EANs (so you can't obviously use those as they don't exist).
Or, each season has multiple disc IDs, (assuming each season is spread over more than one disc, as is normally the case). You shouldn't try to allocate all of a season's data to one disc ID and submit that, as this means that disc ID based profile in the online database would have information in it that's nothing to do with it and is actually associated with a different disc ID. I think that what you're suggesting doing?
I think the only exception might be if each season only has one disc (so each season does only have one disc ID, so you can use that). You might end up sort of making up the season titles if you do this though.
What I do in these cases is put everything into the box set profile (as I said at the start) and submit that, but locally I also make season profiles based on title, although you can do what you've suggest too if you prefer.
Hope that's helpful? | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | Found it. Me with much the same question. TV Series Box SetsI think you can also add every disc as a child profile to the box set profile if you want too, but that still won't give you season profiles. | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? | Posted: | | | | "The 4400" is a little unique in that the box set consists of two HD Keep cases held within the box. I know, that is not unique. What is unique is that the individual keep case artwork does not have a UPC, i.e., they were never released separately as two two-season keep cases. I've contributed the configuration. It ends up being a box set within a box set. You'll see how I've done it, if the contribution gets approved. So far, there aren't any votes one way or the other. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |

| Posted: | | | | It sounds exactly like the UK release of The Walking Dead Complete Series Box set - two giant keep cases each holding about 25 discs and each case with unique artwork, and the two cases are in a box. The two cases don't have their own EANs. (I've been slowly auditing this for over a year!)
How have you submitted the two 'child's box sets' if they don't have unique EANs and more than one disc in each set? | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? | Posted: | | | | I used the first disc in each of the keep cases for the disc ID and made it an alternate, after adding all of the disc IDs, so that an alternate can be created. | | | Mr Video Productions If it isn't Unix, it isn't an OS :-) |
