If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Received my copy a few days ago, just waiting for the weekend now so I can have a Twin Peaks marathon, accompanied (of course!) by plenty of hot black coffee and some damn fine cherry pie

There's some terrible stuff in the second half of S2 (James & Evelyn, Lana Milford, JJ Wheeler) but some brilliant episodes throughout, particularly those leading up to the revelation of the killer and those after the arrival of Windom Earle. The ending of the first episode (Ronette's flashback to the train car) scared the life out of me when it first aired, I was amazed the BBC actually aired it without any cuts!

The lack of amazing extras on this set has lots of people complaining, and there are rumors that a big full series box with extras aplenty is in the works.  Guess we will have people double-dipping if that happens.
I don't wanna be like everyone else, that's why I'm a mod, see?

I have read that at Digital Bits a while ago. Not necessarily the part about extras aplenty, but defineitely about a Complete Series set...

Paramount is definately going to release a box set later in the year when they re-release Season 1 on DVD. The box set will also include The Pilot episode which could not be included in the Artisan release since Paramount owned The Pilot rights but Artisan owned the rest of the season at the time. Whether there will be other extras other than The Pilot in the box set of both seasons is yet to be said.

My review is here:

It's been a long wait, and I'm happy to finally have it, but yes the extras are pretty disappointing.

I received my copy a couple of days ago.
It's been a few years since I watched the pilot & season 1.  I think I'll re-watch the entire series once I finish up with the James Bond movies (still have 10 or 11 to go) and season 2 of the X Files.

This has to be one of the longest waits.  I had to order the pilot episode from Japan, then wait 5 years or more for the second series.  BUT I have to say it's really wonderful stuff.  I just hope Blake's 7 isn't going to be another 10 years before it hits the USA...

I have the entire ‘90-‘91 –Twin Peaks which is  thirty  episodes (including the season opener) on 3  T160 and 1 T200 VHS  tapes recorded at LP speed;  taken fresh off of the Bravo network in 1995,, ( 4 days /two months) for the night of recording .
Had to make sure this series ran with no unnecessary interruptions, and,, also did not want the 'Previously on Twin Peaks' ,,to be taped.

Therefore each hour show was narrowed down to 44-48 minutes from 'to be continued’ up to the fading last second of the leaf floating down the stream'  . I could seamlessly create an entire series in real time. It was fun, and when each tape  ended at the 7th episode mark, I’d let the entire cast/crew credit roles play thru, then would start the next tape with that famous Landmark City Limits (and musical theme from Badalamenti)  , and the ol’ Sawmill ,sparks et all ., to start the next 5 hours like that.

Well Ten years later in October of 05 I purchased my first 2001 Box set of Twin Peaks and immediately was blown away by the beauty and DTS sound of the print over my grainy televised cable at LP speed on video tape. The storyline again captivated me so much, so, I dug out these  four tapes and found episodes  8 thru 29 and again was overwhelmed in this series.
( I even discovered I had taped a rerun of Saturday Night Live with Kyle MacLachlan & Twin Peaks  being lampooned by the NRFT  players .  lol )

Truly is a  magnificent -- crime/drama/comedy./sci-fi/ horror ..  soap opera .

Bottom Line  Of course it is ordered and eagerly looking forward to another visit .

LOL - yes, I'm still blown away by the difference between DVD and VHS.  I know HD DVD is good too - but to be honest - the dffference is nowhere near as marked betweeen Blu-Ray/HD and ordinary DVDs.  Tapes always annoyed me with their dropouts, etc.  DVDs suck me right into whatever I'm watching without worrying about the media..

I'll be starting my Twin Peaks marathon this weekend!

I was working nights when the first season aired and missed every one. By the time they repeated the first season, just before the second season started, I had changed jobs and could view them as they reran. The music, the characters, the actors stretching their craft to fulfil the writers', directors', and the creator's visions... all added up to TV greatness.

As they solved who killed Laura Palmer and headed into the next dramatic conflict, I grew to love the plot more -- gothic horror with a being in the woods, with owls forshadowing earlier alien invasions, and Lovecraftian unspeakables making their presence known... It's too bad the second plotline was never resolved.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
