Character actor Charles Lane, whose stock in trade was playing the perennial sourpuss in movies and television, has died at age 102.
The actor's son, Tom Lane, said he was talking with his father at the actor's home in Santa Monica when he died.
"He was lying in bed with his eyes real wide open," Tom Lane said, "Then he closed his eyes and stopped breathing."
