My son has done something to the display of the "Discs" tab. It no longer shows the "location" and "slot" information, although it shows it checked in the "view columns" tab. Please, anyone, HELP!!! You know how it is spending hours entering a collection. Those two items are crucial pieces of information in my collection. Please let me know how to make them visible again on the screen without going to the "personalize" tab for each DVD.  Many, many thanks in advance for your help!!!!

Go to View and than choose Layout.
Choose the Layout you were using and it will restore itself.

Thanks for your prompt response!  I followed your direction, but I don't have a "layout" option. I can "load layout" or "save layout"..... I'm using versions 3.0.3, build 1136.  What do you think?

"Load Layout" is what you can use to load a saved layout. If you are using the default layout, then the layout is called Invelos Default.

You can also right click on the column headings in the disc tab and select which columns to display.  Once you get everything you want, the way you want it, then save the layout using a unique name. After you do that, it will be easier to re-load exactly what you have set up.

Zwollenaar had the answer. You just missed one part.

Quoting Zwollenaar (bold added by me):
Quote:
Go to View and than choose [load] Layout.
Choose the Layout you were using [reload it] and it will restore itself.

If you don't know which one you were using try the default one called.... "Invelos Default"    (I believe)

EDIT: Looks like 2 of us posted at the same time(ish)

Thank you to all who have replied!  I've tried all your directions and I'm still at a loss. When I right click on the "discs" tab, it shows the "location" and "slot" tabs checked, but they don't show up on the screen!  Could I have a bum copy of the software?  Any other thoughts?

Thanks much in advanced!!!

I don't use location and slot at all so I'm not sure which layouts show them however if you were seeing it on your screen there must be one that does.

Have you tried loading other layouts that are on your machine?

Lyonsden5,  I've tried the default and medium resolution layouts. Neither changes the missing information...  I'm really new to this software, so I don't have a clue! I've tried everything that's been suggested and it seems like they are expected to fix this, but they haven't.  I don't know but I"m REALLY frustrated!!!  I've been spending hours over the past week entering DVD's and personalizing them.... I could strangle my son!!!  Any other thoughts?

Thanks so much for your help!!

The columns are resizable, so you may not see the entire field when you tick a new one. Watch the "title" area of the disc tab when you tick for location or slot. I just tried it and with my current layout, I see the new columns added but with both of them added, I see only L... and S... in quite narrow columns.

I just re-read your posts. I can not make the Location and Slot completely dissapear by resizing the columns. The minimum width of the columns seems to be about 2 characters wide. The only way to completely remove them is to untick the check box. I have even made the entire discs tab only about 1" wide on the screen and the L... and S... still show.

I would recommend re-loading the Invelos Default layout and see if that fixes things. Shut down profiler and re-start it, possibly even re-boot your machine. If I remember correctly, someone had an issue with text not appearing on some buttons and it was related to a missing font or something in Windows. Not sure what else to try besides that.

try posting in the tech support forum.

Tell the problem again, repeat what you just said (about trying the different layouts).

you may want to put "Lost Slot and Location Information" in the title (or something like that. Someone whjo is more familiar with them may see it and be able to help.

Good luck

One more piece of advice - strangling the son = bad

Thanks to all who've replied!!! Unfortunately, none of the proposed solutions have fixed the problem. I'm going to move to the technical forum from here... Thanks again to all!!!
