| Posted: | | | | While obtaining my degree, I took at least one film class every semester. Detective films, genre films, films of John Ford, etc, including a films of Ingmar Bergman. I recall the midterm, where (supposedly) every film we watched would have questions about it. I studied them all (that we had seen so far) from my notes and outside sources. I studied "The Virgin Spring" especially, because I was least familiar with that film. When the test came, there was nothing on it about this one film. After we got our bluebooks back, I asked the professor about the lack of Virgin Spring questions. He went "D'oh"... To everyone's dismay (but mine), there were three tough questions on "The Virgin Spring" on the final, even though it was the second film we watched all semester... and it had not been discussed since the third class (16 week long semester). Anyone ever notice that the silhouettes holding hands atop the ridge at the end of "The Seventh Seal" are not the same characters as in the film? That scene was filmed when the actors had long gone after main shooting ended. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
