... leukemia. He was 71.

Added: a new, local article on Tom Snyder.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I remember watching him on "The Late Late Show," when I was in college and it was pretty boring, especially with that one person laughing with Tom. I've got to admit though that he did have some great interviews on his "Tomorrow Show."

Didn't realize he was that old.  Loved his show though, never missed it.  My friends and I called him "Tommy Tomorrow."  He broke new ground in the art of interviewing celebs.  Great guy.

I loved how Dan Ackroyd would parody him on Saturday Night Live....

Long time "Tomorrow" watcher.  Will never forget some of the interviews, particularly, when Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten showed up. They certainly lived up to their no-talent names and abilities. It was short and quick and after an abrupt cut to commercial they were GONE on return. TOTAL waste of time there but Tom handled it nicely.

Thought he got a little too loose and informal in later years but he was great.
