I know it is very dangerous to mention IMDB, so i am not gonna

But does anyone ever use Allmovie to get info?

Allmovie

And i mean get info, not use if ofc

If i remember correctly, it used to be a huge number of books b4 they went online.

but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: 'WOW What a Ride!!!

Why would you want to get info there if you have the DVD with all the data already? The DVD itself is always the most reliable source...

There's a lot of data you can't get from the DVD.  For example, the whole "Common Name" fiasco currently going on.

For that purpose I bet its not more reliable than imdb.
I just spot checked the cast of one movie (Underworld Evolution) and found incomplete cast list.

One thing I have found personally about Allmovie is that while it may be quite acceptable and accurate for American films it is complete shiitake mushroome when it comes to any film that is not American. IMDB is much more accurate and preferable when it comes to films produced outside the US.

I've tried it, but found it to be unreliable.

I've used it for cross-reference purposes, e.g. to find out Country of Origin in cases where it's not that obvious, comparing Allmovie to IMDb and other sources. I have to agree that Allmovie certainly cannot be regarded as "the" authoritative source in most cases, so I certainly would not recommend using it as the only source for info that cannot be derived from the DVD itself.

The single most accurate database I've found so far is TCMDB.com.  The Turner Classic Movies database.  They use data from the American Film Institute.  Its great for older American issued movies especially.
