| Posted: | | | | I contributed a new profile with front and back images for the version of Superman Returns on Blu-ray that contains a 5.1 PCM and Dolby TrueHD audio track.
This is the one that people were given if they purchased the Pioneer Blu-ray player. There are quite a few people that have this version and it will soon be released nationally at retail. If you want more info on that then do a search at the AVS forums.
So why was the profile and image declined?
Was it ignorance on the part of the person that declined it? Did they think it was a joke?
FWIW you should have an automated e-mail generator that allows you to give a cursory reason as to why a contribution is denied. |

That's why I'm hoping that the person(s) that declined it would give me a reason. It has a different UPC than the current version that's out. That and I'm betting that many people don't know that there is a version of SR on Blu-ray that has PCM and TrueHD so maybe they thought the audio formats info and HR pictures were not real? I included what I thought was relevant info in the notes section, but I'll take your suggestion Trinitron and resubmit the profile again. Thank you for the replies. |

| Posted: | | | | Check your contribution list under My Profiler. It does show a reason for the decline. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | I'm willing to bet that decline reason Ken is pointing you towards is dealing with the UPC. You can't update a movie in the database with a movie in your hand if the UPC's are different. Doesn't matter if it's the same movie.
Best to create a new profile to match the UPC of the movie in your hands if one doesn't exist yet. It could be made easier by the Change UPC function. |

| Posted: | | | | Hmmm this one actually sounds interesting to me. Typically in the past, such free discs, come with NO UPC # and where the UPC have words to the effect Not For Resale. With DVDs this does not pose a major problem, you simply go to Disc ID, but I don't believe BD/HD-DVD uses a Disc ID, sounds like the proverbial rock and a hard place. Any thoughts, Ken.

Skip actually - i do believe they would have a disc ID - but you would need a drive... which very few of us have (and the actual program may need some coding changes as well...) - if not some sort of id - there must be a checksum or some kind of algorithm that can be used to create an ID. | | | -JoN |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know about BluRay, but HD DVDs have both a volume name and ID like traditional DVDs, but at the moment Profiler isn't able to read them.
I don't know if it's possible for Ken to allow us to enter the ID manually for these discs? | | | Last edited: by northbloke |
