| Posted: | | | | See this thread on AVSForum: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=898666This is a pretty serious issue for Disney. I have flashbacks to the first Back to the Future DVDs. Note: Please don't turn this thread into a format war thread. This is not a format issue but a transfer issue. /Mikkel EDIT: Correction: It is not Dead Mans Chest that have the issues but Curse of the Black Pearl | | | DVD Profiler på Dansk | | | Last edited: by mikl |

Err, the problem is you do see the floor... the studio floor... and you don't see the actor's heads and I dare say people did pay $$$ to actually see the whole of an actor's face not just the bottom half! | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | Also: There's the issue of director's intetion. Just like we don't like pan&scan or otherwise cropped versions of movies, we don't like misframings. If we didn't give a rat's ass about the framing or cropping, why give a rats ass about picture quality and buy blu-ray in the first place? Disney made a mistake and should exchange the discs. | | | DVD Profiler på Dansk |

| Posted: | | | | Ok so just another reason to go HD vs Blue-ray now I see. Blueray cutting heads off which sucks. I bet HD/Blue-ray debate will be going on for at least 5 or more years.
I will stick to the normal DVD format the one I been buying for years until they decided on which one will be the new format. | | | Last edited: by Randall_Lind |

Mistakes can happen on HD DVD, Blu-Ray and DVD. There's tons of examples of this kind of stuff on DVD. We have the first Blu-ray example. I'm sure HD DVD will have it's own mistake soon enough. I've had problems twice with Disney discs. My Pearl Harbor had some glue on the playable side of one of the discs and I just called a few days ago for my replacement discs for More Silly Symphonies. The good news is that calling in to Disney has been one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. So hopefully they'll jump on this and get it fixed. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

Good for you US guys, but most of the early adopters are importing their stuff. We don't have the luxury to just send the stuff over to disney. They won't exchange defective discs from outside USA. |
