| Posted: | | | | Not overly excited about the Iron Man, but The Mist is an excellent short story by Stephen King, which was an exciting read. It was a short story though, so filling it up to feature length might cause problems... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

If I recall correctly The Mist was actually a novella... despite being part of the short stort collection Skeleton Crew. I believe it is similar in length to Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption to hopefully won't too many problems. | | | Andy

| Posted: | | | | Same... but I remember thinking "This is supposed to be a book of short stories... what is going on here".
Just grabbed my copy, and it is 114 pages long. Should be possible... especially if you consider how successfully some of the really short stories were adapted for Nightmares and Dreamscapes on TV. Battleground for example is only about 10-20 pages as I recall. | | | Andy

| Posted: | | | | I guess the one nightmarish experience of Stephen King short story to screen that popped in my head was "Trucks"... The worst example I could come up with. But don't get me wrong, I WILL see it. If they just get it half right, it will be a thrill! EDIT: Watching the trailer now; it gives me goosebumps... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) | | | Last edited: by nuoyaxin |

| Posted: | | | | Huge King fan myself and I have high hopes for The Mist, however I must say I was disappointed with the trailer. I believe they showed far too much in the trailer. Having read the story I am fully aware of what happens, but to the average movie goer I believe a trailer that leads you to believe that something is in The Mist and it is driving the people in the grocery store slightly mad, is a far better approach to peaking interest rather revealing everything up front!!! | | | My Collection!!! |

The Mist looks pretty good and since Frank Darabont wrote and directed it, I'll be there in theatres to watch it. I loved how he did Shawshank and Green Mile and he seems to know how to adapt Stephen King's work for the screen pretty well. | | | We're on a mission from God.

| Posted: | | | | I've got AMC on in the background behind me here , and today they are playing a 1966 western called Stagecoachwhat a great cast!!,, and the opening was in cinemascope,, then cropped after that. Now here is a film I would buy.. on DVD? .. Oops not available.. Must be a Bing Crosby estate issue. Why is this post always have to be a bout films that are just being released today? I prefer the old classics that have yet to see the light of day on any type of video format. ( Now if we can just get TCM to run this film in widescreen and uninterrupted..) | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | I'd love to see " Neco z Alenky" get released on DVD, but as far as I'm aware, that'll probably never happen. I've not seen it yet, but it's directed by Jan Svankmajer, the same guy that directed Little Otik, and very excellent version of Faust. As and when it does eventually get a release, it'll be straight onto the shelves. | | | They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care, They pursued it with forks and hope.
