Ok,

We are all collector's ( which leads me to another question - but I will post that separately ) which enevitabley means we are all SOMEBODY's blockbuster ( Or so they think ). I can't tell you how many people over the years have taken DVD's from me, and I have never seen them alive again. What about you guys ? You all know the people I am talking about. The ones who come over after borrowing a DVD and "claim" to just forgot it.

Now, by nature I have never been the kind of person to cut people off. I wish I could, but something inside of me yearns to help people out, even when it's something as moronic as lending a movie. Sure, it leaves in going insane, and you think I would learn. After all, at this point it's nobody's fault but my own...but let's here your rants on this. I think this could be good for us ... kinda like a support group. We can call it "Moron's who lent movies never to be seen again" or MWLMNTBSA for short

I am nobody's blockbuster.

Only my mom/dad and sister can lend DVD's, and that I don't mind cos they are very carefull with them, and my sister collects as well

I don't lend them, so I don't have a problem.  I will sometimes play one for my mother, if she asks to watch it, so its never really out of my sight.

I lend them quite often but mostly to friends whom I know I can trust and who know how much I spend on these shiny discs!

BUT I have a strict policy - you destroy 'em OR lose 'em and you've lost your privilege to borrow any more from my collection (hasn't happened as yet though - sometimes they'll keep the disc for a month or so but it eventually comes back and in proper shape)

I didn't have a problem to lend my dvd to familly and friend, but ...
My copy of Swedish Erotica 9 was lost by a former friend who give me a stupid excuse. How the hell can you lost a movie when you leave in a 2 and a half rooms appartment   

Since then he stress me because I confisc some of his video game in compensation. He had told me that this cost more than my dvd ... so what! Just buy another copy and you'll get your stock back.

O.K enought rant

So to make a long story short, I continue to lend my dvd to my mother and my brother since they took care of them. For friends, forget it if you want to rest a friend

I have no problem loaning to friends, but I do draw the line at the rarer ones like RossRoy. I tell people that they're my NLTH sets. ("Never Leaves The House").

The thing is, the friends I have are friends because I trust them. Because I trust them they can borrow what they like. I know I can trust them to replace stuff if it's lost or damaged (never happened). Plus they lend me stuff. It's just a free for all!

I even like forcing stuff onto people as it educates them into a better class of taste! Come round my house and tell me how great the US remake of The Ring is, and you'll get Ringu waved in your mug. And so on...
