| Posted: | | | | "Bundestrojaner" (federal trojan horse) is a phrase to describe an attempt of the german secretary of interior to get a law passed that will allow the federal criminal police office to access the computers of possible terrorists.
The only problem is: nobody is able to describe how they will be accessed, if it really should be attempted over an open internet connection or by entering the appartment and the installing of some piece of software. And the secretary has - like almost all politicians - no technical skills whatsoever and when he talks about this stuff it's really weird to hear so much crap.
I don't believe in this terrorism excuse, it's used way too often after 9-11 even in germany. I feel that is more directed at the general population than at any specific (suspected) terrorist.
Thus we call it Stasi 2.0 (Stasi - Staatssicherheit - was the east german secret police). They would have been glad if they could have had surveillance techniques like this. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
