The problem with AnyDVD is that it seems to change the Disc ID, so you cannot add Disc ID if you are running AnyDVD. But that's a limitation that I can live with. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.

| | Posted: | | | | I've tried a few programs (dvdxghost, idlepro I think, something else I can't recall) but find that AnyDVD just works best on my computer (still running XP, never tried "upgrading" to Vista after reading horror stories and not many nice ones). Yeah it doesn't work with profiler, so I turn it off. If I need to steal a car, errrrrr, make a backup, I just turn it back on.  Love Nero recode, so much better than dvdshrink. About the only thing I use shrink for anymore is for disc info (audio tracks and subs listed, dual layer or not, and runtime). |

http://www.videohelp.com/ And you can't always get it. On the basis my laptops dvd drive is apparently cheap to replace people can't be bothered to hack it. There's no way AnyDVD can do anything with a protected DVD (which is most of them) without changing the long disc ID that DVD Profiler uses. So AnyDVD will always have "problems" with DVD Profiler. Profiler is a smart program, even if I turn anyDVD on after already having profiler running, it won't let me set disc info or add to ccollection by disc in drive. If anyDVD is on before profiler, I get the message that I won't be able to do anything from the disc and the opition to turn off anyDVD and restart profiler, or continue with disc disabled. |

Not much probably, but with AnyDVD you have to remember the disc ID problems occuring with the DVD Profiler program. DVDRegion+CssFree and DVDIdlePro don't alter the original disc ID while in use with the program. I'm not sure how much memory AnyDVD uses in the background, but DVDIdlePro only uses about 124k. | | | | Corey |
