| Posted: | | | | If you have a CompUSA near you they are probably liquidating inventory. The one near me has everything 10-30% off. It wasn't picked over yet. Mine had a small selection of DVD, Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs and they were 20% off. Picked up The Sting, and Fast & the Furious 1 & 3 on HD. Checked against Amazon when i got home and i saved probably 10% off their prices. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | Our CompUSA did this last summer. 10-30% is just the starting sales, so items no one cares much about you can wait for 50-60% off in a month or 2 (like cd cases, dvd cases did disappear at 20-30%). Grab ink and printers quick, they won't last. Ipod's will take longer to get down, and won't get as low as other items, but should be there if you wait. Not sure about computers, although I didn't want toi buy one as there's literally one CompUSA left in my state, and it's 2 hours away. I wonder if this is a second batch of store closings or if the whole chain is going belly up. |

| Posted: | | | | The whole chain is going this time apparently (see the link in my first post).
They didn't have enough Video inventory at mine to make me think i could wait. A reasonable number of console games though.
I was hoping to snag an HD-DVD player for the PC but no joy. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | The two CompUSA stores we had here went away last year.
It stinks that there is a little less competition in the retail market now. Pretty soon we'll only have one or two different stores to shop at. I'm still one who likes the bricks and mortar type of shopping. I only go online if I have to. |

| Posted: | | | | Every CompUSA in Western Washington vanished last year - I had four within 20 minutes to choose from. But if they didn't close, I never would have discovered Fry's - that store is a Geek's wet dream!
Bit farther to drive to get to Fry's and I miss CompUSA though. |

| Posted: | | | | I live about 10 miles from CompUSA's (former?) corporate HQ. The store across the highway from that building closed 2-3 years ago.
I'm amazed the one i went to today is still open. A Fry's opened across the highway from it about 3 years ago. Been in CompUSA maybe twice since. Wouldn't have stopped today except for the guy standing on the side of the road with the big SALE sign. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

I was hoping to snag an HD-DVD player for the PC but no joy. Sorry, didn't click the link before asking. I'm hoping Fry's comes to Michigan soon. Had to stop in at the one in Vegas due to forgetting the powercord for laptop, and yeah, it's defintily "a Geek's wet dream". I'm not even a geek, but my jaw was on the floor just from the dvd section alone. R.I.P. CompUSA. They were much more helpfull and reasonably priced compared to Best Buy next door. Now I'm left with BB and CC, or worse, Wal-Mart. |

I've actually always found CompUSA on the expensive side...when the one by me had the liquidation sale last year I felt the 20-30% off only brought their prices to the level of other stores but didn't really feel that it gave any stupendous deals. Though if its computer hardware and that type stuff your looking for...online beats any brick and morter store I've found yet. -Agrare |
