Awhile back, and it may have been on the old boards. Someone asked why you chose your Avatar.
I told the story of my late dog Daisy, and was encouraged to not change it.

Well today I did, and I feel I need to mention why.

We have has two dogs for the last few years, a shy Border Collie named Dibley, and a Giant Schnauzer name Lucy. They got along for about two weeks and than Lucy began attacking Dibley.
We have separated the house to keep the apart and up till last night it worked.
The problem is the Lucy is very scared by firecrackers and gunshots. My wife and I made sure the barrier between them was secure, and had given Lucy some calming medicine before we left to attend our usual New Years Eve party. (And I'm sure you may guess where this is going.)

Well when we returned home we found Lucy had torn down all the barriers in her reaction to either firecrackers, or folks in our neighborhood shooting off guns. And there in our bedroom was Dibley, bloody and dead.

This was a horrible way to start the New Year. Now we have to bury one dog, and probably have to put down the either. So to male a short story long I have changed my Avatar in Dibley's honor.

Thank you for letting me tell this story. Every time I email someone or write a post like this it helps sooth the hurt.

Write now DVD's seem trivial.

I can only hope your Year started off better, and as I keep telling myself, It can only get better later this Year!!!

I believe that there's a place where beloved pets go while they wait for their masters join them.  Your pets are probably running through a lush meadow happily chasing bugs when they aren't resting in the shade of a large tree remembering the good life they had.

I feel for you, I had to make the hard choice to put down one of our cats less than a month ago. She was twelve years-old and a treasure, and now she is gone. I recommend to you a bokk written by a friend of mine, "Rescuing Sprite" by Mark Levin. For those of you that might wonder, yes, the Great One. It is marvelous book and I think you will find it very helpful.

I am very sorry for yor loss bobb.

We have a Miniature Daschund and her son ... a Miniature Daschund/Chihuahua mix. We rescued them in Ohio.

Prior to them we had a Miniature Daschund who was 16 years old. Had to finally put her down as she had Lukemia and started getting sizures really bad. The vet told us she would eventually get brain damage from the severity of them.

I know this does not compare to the horror of what you must have experienced upon your return home. I think I would have totally lost it. People who do not have pets can not even imagine what it is like to have something like this happen. It is just like having something like this happen to a child.

I hope you will forgive Lucy for what she did. You have to know she did not mean to kill Dibley.

Please know that as a dog owner, and human being, I will say a prayer for Dibley and Lucy.

I wish you the best in the coming year and hope that time will heal your wounds.

I'm sorry for your loss bobb. I feel your pain. I was desolated when Woody, my Cockatiel, passed away. It's been 5 years and I still think of him often. We're going through the same thing now with my parents. They just lost their 14 year old lhasa Apso mix Gypsy on Christmas day.

All I can say is that they are in a better place and that in time the pain will subide.

I am so sad to hear about this tragic event; losing pets is always hard but to lose them the way you describe I can hardly imagine. My thoughts are with you and your family.
