| Posted: | | | | Feeling a bit frustrated right now with Amazon and thought I'd see if anyone else had this problem. I received the set History of Rock N Roll (upc: 085393-499129) for Christmas through Amazon. Opened it up to find that 3 of the 5 discs had come out of the digipak and were scratched enough that it affected play. Got the replacements today, of course, this time, not only were the same discs lose and scratched, but the whole packaging just fell apart as I took the plastic wrap off.
Amazon won't ship another, but is refunding the money to the card it was purchased on, so basically, now I have to hunt down someplace around here to buy it from which will be a pain, but anyway...was wondering if anyone else had this problem with this set? Is it just a poorly designed case? I've had digipak's shipped to me before but never with this much problem.
Just thought I'd see if anyone else had this problem...thanks for the input! | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I can never understand why these manufacturing/packaging houses can't put a simple bit of styrofoam inside the case to hold the discs in place during shipping.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | I'm with you on that! I once bought a dvd from ebay that was shipped that way and thought that that was the greatest idea...totally secured it in the package, arrived safe and sound! I also am very not impressed with how Amazon chose to handle this... | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I got that exact set from Amazon over a year ago with no problems. I will say that I'm not a big fan of the design. The plastic tray backs are glued to the cardboard cover to form a book-like presentation. I've found that the glue often comes loose and an entire plastic tray comes free.
Beyond that, it's a fun set! |

| Posted: | | | | I know! I was able to limp through the first disc before I had to send it back (the replacement for it was trashed...trays fell out, discs scratched...same ones, too, so couldn't mix and match and send the damaged ones back but have a full set), and I really want to finish it! Of course, everyone around me is sold out, though Best Buy had some left at another store so I bought two from them, am planning on returning one and opening the other in the store. That way there's a back up waiting for me if that one is damaged. After that, I give up.
Seems like the set is back ordered at Target, Borders and Best Buy so do kind of wonder if this problem is wide spread or just if they sold out of the first printing. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | Well, I got mine from Amazon for $20 in December of '06. They were having a super sale. Given the action that title saw at that price, I've got to believe it's well beyond it's first print! Oh, and a loose tray can easily be fixed with super glue. Sucker will never come loose again! | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |

| Posted: | | | | If it was just the trays...I'd have put up with it at that point. The first one didn't have that problem but when I took off the plastic of the 2nd set and things just started falling out...I can't imagine what my expression was! | | | Lori |
