Actor Brad Renfro, who became a child star at 14 in 'The Client' but in recent years was plagued by numerous drug problems and arrests, was found dead at his Los Angeles home Tuesday morning; he was 25.

While the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed that Renfro had died, a cause of death was not named. The Tennessee-born actor snagged an amazingly high-profile part for his first role, that of a young boy sought by the mafia in the 1994 adaptation of the John Grisham novel 'The Client,' opposite established stars Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones. His impressive performance in the box office hit made him a high-profile young actor, and roles in such films as 'Tom and Huck,' 'Sleepers' and 'Telling Lies in America' followed; he also appeared opposite Ian McKellen in Bryan Singer's controversial 'Apt Pupil,' about a young student who blackmails his elderly neighbor, whom he believes is a Nazi war criminal. Despite a string of successful roles, including solid performances in 'Bully' and 'Ghost World,' Renfro reportedly found adapting to Hollywood difficult, and was arrested on a number of drug and theft charges. In 2000, he was arrested in Florida on grand theft charges for allegedly trying to steal a 45-foot yacht, and while on probation for the crime was jailed for underage drinking. Other arrests followed, and last year he was found in violation of his probation for failing to enroll in a drug treatment program. Most recently, Renfro had appeared in 'The Jacket' as well as an episode of 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent.' He had just wrapped filming on 'The Informers' opposite Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Billy Bob Thornton and Kim Basinger.

A rep for the film's production company said in a statement:

"All of us at Senator Entertainment, the cast and crew of THE INFORMERS, and director Gregor Jordan are profoundly saddened by the news we received today. Brad was an exceptionally talented young actor and our time spent with him was thoroughly enjoyable, and he became a true friend to us all.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and to all who knew him closely as the giving, warm-hearted young man he was."

A lot of young actors can talk there :

Bridgette Andersen -  dead at 21 years old (overdose)
Jonathan Brandis - dead at 27 years old (suicide)
Robert Harron - dead at 27 years old (suicide?)
Anissa Jones - dead at 18 years old (overdose)
River Phoenix - dead at 23 years (overdose)
Dana Plato - dead 34 years old (overdose)

The list are not that big. But some young actors are on their way to this list if they don't change their life. Money, fame and young age are not really a great mix.

I agree 100%,,  let's hope that Briitney isn't on that list later this year....

Now wait a minute, her "performance" in "Crossroads" hardly qualifies her as an actress named aside those already on the list.

She'd be better suited with a list of early grave musicians...

I wouldn't call her a musician either. She's one of those lucky flukes who's only famous now due to personal problems the press can't get enough of. She was only famous before due to good production and marketing. She'd probably get boo'ed off a karaokee stage!
If she didn't want to be followed everywhere still, all she'd have to do is act like a normal human. Being crazy is the only thing keeping her famous. The singing ship done left the port and the 15 minutes is up.

All you see on entertainment news shows anymore are Britney's/Paris's/Lindsay's latest escapades, also Anna Nicole was right there with em. I agree with most of the comments here, but as far Britney, her antics are really the only thing that will keep her in the public eye anymore (something I am sure this is well aware of) so I don't look for it to stop until sadly we read here obituary.

It's never been an all-inclusive list.  I'd bet more people who passed last year were left off than were shown in the montage.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

I believe they only included people who died during 2007, so that Renfro will probably be included in next year's ceremony.

It actually said on screen Feb 1, 2007 - Jan 31, 2008.  They closed the montage with Heath Ledger.
