| Posted: | | | | W0m6at had a great idea over in "Feature Requests." Posting of bootlegs so they are not added to the database or private collections. I am sure there will be further logistics needed but here is my idea for now. We post in the forum the cover art, UPC and title of the bootleg plus where we got our information that the title is a fake. Maybe Ken could eventually compile the list and make it so they could not be added with a pop up that says something to the affect of, "Sorry, you cannot add this title because it is a known illegal copy." What does everyone think? These are the links: | | | Last edited: by Lord Of The Sith |

| Posted: | | | | I can understand not adding to the database, but if by private collection you me local database then I am not sure I agree. I am not condoning bootlegs, but a person should be able to do what they want with their local DB. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net grenactics - The art of skillfully fraggin one’s opponent with the use of grenades or other compact explosive devices that are thrown by hand or projected. | | | Last edited: by schultzy |

However, I still believe the person should be warned when adding a bootleg to their collection. I believe that the majority of the people on here wouldn't want to have ANY bootlegs in their collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe so, but if you're adding the UPC or disc ID from the DVD in front of you, you've already bought it.
The warning effect you're striving for could only be achieved if DVDP actually listed those titles as well and you could identify them when adding them by title to the wishlist. | | | Lutz |

| Posted: | | | | Sith, do you want to put that link I posted and the Disney link in your first post for this topic? Hopefully we can make that a one-stop bootleg avoidance post. I'm not sure about putting specifics (though from one experience I know that many bootlegs share a UPC... if only I could figure out what that UPC was), but I think a list of people's "How to spot" would be very useful so people can be educated before shelling out the money. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

Stuart I am not sure what is going on with the links. I have submitted properly twice now and they still are not working. |

| Posted: | | | | May I suggest that the studio FX be removed from the Online as its my experience, and also mentioned in the link W0mbat gave for identifying bootleg anime dvds, that this is a bootlegging studio.
Or not allow titles that have FX as a studio to be contributed, giving a reason that it is a known bootleg studio (though people may just remove the studio and submit)
