| Posted: | | | | The correct order would be
Dead Man's Walk Comanche Moon Lonesome Dove Streets of Laredo
Their is also Return to Lonesome Dove and The Lonesome Dove tv series, but the creater of LD Larry McMurtry does not endorse these (and has said in interviews they were made only to cash in on the success of the original Lonesome Dove mini-series) | | | DVD Profiler user since October 1, 2004 |

But I think even Larry McMurtry can't argue that Streets of Laredo and the two prequels were made with no intent to "cash in" on the original. Having said that, in case anyone is interested the full chronology would be: Dead Man's Walk (aired 1996) Comanche Moon (aired 2008) Lonesome Dove (aired 1990) Return to Lonesome Dove (aired 1993) Lonesome Dove, The Series (aired 1994) Lonesome Dove, The Outlaw Years (aired 1995) Streets of Laredo (aired 1995) I agree that the non-McMurtry efforts pale by comparison to the "official" sequel/prequels. But even those "official" ones weren't as good as the original (at least IMHO). | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. Yes, the original is by far best, although I was quite pleased with Comanche Moon. | | | DVD Profiler user since October 1, 2004 |

It's tough for anyone to match Robert Duvall's performance as Gus, but the actor (whose name escapes me at present) who was Gus in Comanche Moon did a creditable job. I have only seen the first part of Comanche Moon, though I did tape all three nights. Since the DVD version will be out officially next week (already at Wallmart, according to another thread) I already recycled my taped copy in favor of the DVD. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges?
