| Posted: | | | | Just wondering if anyone here have their own list of pre approved contributors? I have several, which means that I trust them 100% and when they contribute I don't have to check my own DVD to see that the changes are correct, I just know they are when these people contribute changes. Anyone else have the same approval as me? | | | "What's God?" "You know when you want something really bad and you wish for it?, God's the guy that ignores you" -The Island, Steve Buscemi |

| Posted: | | | | No. I don't trust anyone 100% (not even myself, it's all too easy to make a mistake) but I don't check other people's contributions unless something looks wrong or suspicous. If I pulled out my discs everytime I'd might just as well do the job myself and then what would be the point of it all... | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | I don't trust any contribution 100% but if I see other users that I consider Smart Cookies who have voted yes on a profile, I'm less likely to scrutinize it. |

| Posted: | | | | There's a couple/few that get quick glances, but no one is pre-approved yet. I also first look over a contribution with the votes not showing, so as not to influence my decision. If I'm still kinda in the dark, I'll check the votes and look for a couple names like Dr. Kill does. More often than not, if it's a birth-year or common name which I know nothing about, I just go neutral. I have to give props to Katatonia (hope I spelled that right) for the recent killer scans. Those are nice and easy to vote on. |

| Posted: | | | | Trust No One . There are a few that I trust and feel comfortable with giving the contribution a cursory once-over. I don't blindly approve them though. No one is perfect and even the best contributors have a "Reagan" moment . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Excellent question!! I must say that I agree with just everyone here. <gasp> While I do have a short list of people who get (just about) 100% approval, like bigdaddyhorse look over the profile differences first. If it happens to be a title that I've audited and contributed, then I might pull the DVD out, just in case. After all everyone makes mistakes. | | | Peter

| Posted: | | | | In direct answer to the question, Yes, I have a database of my own construction that I track every contributor I encounterand I assign a rating. There are a small handful of users that have proven to me that they consistently try an follow the Rules and strive to do high quality work. That does not mean they are perfect, sometimes I catch a mistake they might make or someone else catches something overlooked and let's me know.
There are oyusrs have, similarly demonstrated a total disregard fro the Rules, thus ensuring that i will give any Contribution they might make extra attention.
I also rate voting ofr my purposes, since there are also users who will vote in either ignorance of the Rules or again doesn't care and will vote yes regardless. There arer users who appear to vote from their own agenda as well.
My algorithm is very extensive and takes into account a number of totally proprietary issues.
We are also all too human and while we may strive for perfection, sometimes we will hit it and sometimes we won't. But I don't care who you are, users wthat ignore valid No votes just because the vote is going their way tell me that they are not interested in the quality of the database. I will fix and re-fix any Contribution until it is right if I have to.

| Posted: | | | | Wow, a lot of reading. I agree with some of you and disagree with others. I do not have a preapproved contribution list. I am guilty of looking at the other votes and if I see certain names being more likely to vote yes or no. For covers I always grab mine to make sure it matches and I try to look at color and tone. For contributions I look through match them with my DVDs and then say yes or no. All in all I try to give everyone a fair shake. |

| Posted: | | | | Similar to many I have a mental list of "people I know try to follow the Rules and usually do excellent updates" and, though I don't automatically vote Yes (as anyone can make an error) I tend to believe them if they say "taken from end credits" or "regions checked from actual disc" without checking them myself! | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |
